Basic epidemiology

Sufficiently detailed for medical students, easy to follow, well written - would recommend!

Feels quite basic but is my first text for this topic so that is helpful, may need supplementing later with amore detailed text. Easy to follow, presents fundamentals , methodologies of epidemiology largely through reference to case studies, so is interesting to read over and above the epidemiological approach messages

This was a Xmas present for a family memeber who needed it for an exam. She passed! Found it interesting and useful.

The content of this book maches the basic requirement for my study. I will not hesitate to recomment it to my colleagues.

This book was on the essential reading list for my masters and whilst it is informative it is also frustrating to use.They refer in the text frequently ‘see table such and such’ and they do not mention the page. As they also have many others labelled as table/figure etc you can spend too much time trying to locate the table they are referring to which is often around 50 pages from the text.I also do not think this is a very good introduction to biostatistics- the chapter on that is not useful for someone learning the ‘basics’ as indicated in the title. I’ve found much better books on previous courses for that.The authors use a lot of flowery language. I would not agree this is a good introduction to the topic- the frustration of flicking back and forth adds to that conclusion - I’ve wasted a lot of time noting the pages they refer to. The text is not very well organised

This book has been helpful in understanding new as well as long-forgotten principles of basic epidemiology.A good quick and easy read.
