Hunt's Diced Tomatoes with Green Pepper, Celery & Onion, 14.5 oz, 12 Pack

The tomatoes appear to be good quality, but the product is too sweet (unless you really like extra-sweet foods). The ingredients list shows that the 3 main ingredients are tomatoes, tomato juice, and sugar. Less than 2% of all other ingredients. The flavor of green peppers, celery and onion is barely perceptible, partly because there is almost none of those vegetables in the can, and partly because there is so much sugar that it over-powers the other flavors. In fact, there is more salt and citric acid than celery or green pepper (see list of ingredients on the label).Note that if you use these in a cooked meal, the sweetness is not quite so over-powering, because the bitterness of all the tomato seeds comes out during cooking, and tends to offset the sweetness. Maybe that's why they add so much sugar into this product.On the plus side, none of the cans in my order were dented. Can't say the same about many other canned products I have ordered.

This is a product we enjoy in chili, etc and thought it would be great to purchase in quantity, but very disappointed that 10 of the 12 cans were dented beyond safe to use. They were packaged as a case lot with shrink wrap, so quite surprised when took plastic off and saw all the damage. Some major dents in sides of cans and some at top or bottoms at seams. Not safe and threw them out. Waste of food, time and money. Please make sure to package well so we don't have to throw out food!

Not only were 5 of the 12 cans so dented that I wouldn't use them (they had to have packed that way because they were scattered around and then the pkg. was sealed) but I purchased these the end of February 2021 and the exp. is 6/13/2021. Now I really like this sauce but I don't know how I'm going to use 7 cans of it for 2 people in a household in 3 months.

Starting to stock my log cabin for the winter...early this year.These canned tomatoes have an excellent flavor, a good value for my money... Not sure exactly what is meant by warmth but guessing it means the spiciness of the tomatoes. Perfect for me.Most highly recommended and will purchase again if needed.

The product had expired June of last year! I just opened the package today as I had used all mine in the pantry as was ready to restock with these. Will never buy food items one line from Amazon .

The title really says it all. None better. BUT... I bought a 12 pack in May 2020 for $12, now the same retailer is trying to sell it at $40. That's absurd. I'd buy lots more, but never ever at these prices.

These are very tasty and quite handy for many dishes. The texture and quality of the tomatoes is very good. There's not too much liquid, you get a very nice combination of flavors that makes preparation of many dishes quick and easy. Perfect to spice up spaghetti sauce or get a head start on many other dishes. Onions are very mild, could be a bit stronger for my taste, but still not bad. Very healthy, low calories, good nutrition, so I use 'em a lot! ;)No dented cans in my case and shipped quickly. Price is fair and home delivery is very convenient. With the addition of some chili powder or something else to punch it up a bit, you can even eat this "as is" with chips or pasta. Yum!

I really love these hunts diced tomatoes with green peppers, celery and onion. Hunts and Amazon did a good job packaging the cans so that my four cases arrived safely without any severe dents to any of the cans. I'm stocking up on canned tomatoes because Amazon has a marvelous price of $10.53 a case or around $0.88 per can, which is $0.33 cheaper per can than my local grocery store and I receive the added convenience of having them delivered right to my home. I've read news reports that the prices of tomatoes will be going up from 15% to 20% in the coming months because of inflation and supply shortages so I want to make sure to have a nice supply. I've had other brands of diced tomatoes and they are usually overly filled with juice or contain harmful ingredients like "high fructose corn syrup" Hunts quality can't be beat,these cans are filled with tasty healthy tomatoes with very small amounts of liquid to drain. I use them mostly with black beans for mixing my own low cost salsa ^_^ I do wish they made their cans like Libbys which are made to stack on top of each other, Hunts cans are difficult to stack.
