Beautiful Sturdy Umbrella
I have not had reason yet to use this umbrella - but living in Tampa area, it rains alot. Love the color, and stripe so can be seen at night. I have no doubt I will be happy with my purchase. I bought 2. One for home and one for work!

Perfect for international travel, but pricy compared to other options.
I bought this in advance of a potentially rainy trip to Italy after reading reviews here and elsewhere. I also bought the less expensive Repel umbrella. The Weatherman umbrella has a great build quality and nicer fit/finish than the Repel, plus it's about 1.5 oz lighter. There are 11 color choices for the Weatherman and one Folds of Honor design, and each of them has a cool reflective edge around the canopy. The Repel comes in black, gray, yellow, and red as well as three unique patterns and combinations but no reflective bits. The Weatherman umbrella is slightly longer than the Repel when folded (11.8" vs 11.5") and smaller when fully open (37.8" vs 42"). It is also a single-canopy umbrella compared to the Repel's dual canopy. Neither umbrella is waterproof, only water resistant. If you're going to be in a lot of rain for a long time, you'll eventually have water drops coming through the canopy no matter which one you use.I only used the umbrellas for a few days during the trip, and not much at all since then so I can't speak to how well they compare over time. That said, I do think the mechanism on the Weatherman is sturdier than the Repel and you can feel the difference when opening/closing them.Is the Weatherman worth more than 2x the price of the Repel? If you are going to use an umbrella all the time or travel with it a lot, the Weatherman's 1.5 less ounces and better build quality will make a difference. If you don't use an umbrella very much, the Repel is probably the better option.

Great Quality, Sturdy
The umbrella great quality, but I was looking for a more lightweight item.I am backpacking in Europe, and want as little weight as possible in my pack.Unfortunately, I am returning it.
