Delicious flavor, clean taste, perfect balance of flavors. Surprisingly good for an instant soup.
I usually make my miso soup from scratch, but I was very curious when I saw Tsubi Soup offered on Amazon. I tried the Spicy Red Miso with Japanese Mushrooms and it was delicious! Each cube makes 6 ounces of soup, which doesn't sound like much. However, it was just the right amount to satisfy me without stuffing me. I added almost-boiling water to the bowl and the cube dissolved instantly. I waited about 3 minutes and every bit of onion, seaweed, and mushrooms were rehydrated and soft. My mushrooms didn't look as big as the ones in the photo above, but they still had substance and chew to them. The flavor is very clean, not at all like some instant miso soups I have tried in the past. The red pepper spice gave it just a little bit of kick without burning my mouth. The mushroom flavor really comes through. This instant soup offers a nice change of flavor and is definitely going to be convenient when I don't want to make my own. I just ordered the spinach variety and look forward to trying it.

Spicy Red Miso Soup Rules!
We conducted a simple taste test with four different vegetarian/vegan instant miso soups (see picture). The Tsubi spicy red miso soup won. Surprisingly complex flavor for an instant miso soup and it had good mouth feel. The more conventional Tsubi white miso soup was also good but it came in a close second to the tastier mushroom Tsubi red miso soup. The other brand in the test had a relatively one note salty miso flavor profile and came in a distant third and fourth.

Very tasty & very expensive per pack...
I bought 1 box which has 4 soups. They really are very very tasty and take zero time to prepare (heat up the water and poof). But, they are really expensive. At over $3 per pack, that's a bit steep. I'm going to try one of the others ($14 for 12 packs, etc) and compare. If this soup is really superior I'll update the review.

Absolutely delicious!
I have been vegetarian for almost 10 years, and I've really missed having miso soup. I found this while browsing on here for some quick quarantine meals, and although it is a bit on the pricey side, I decided to try it. This soup has such a great flavor, especially in the tofu. I'll admit I do add some extra salt into it, as it is on the "lower" side of the sodium scale for soups than I'm used to. I prefer it with more salt, as it really brings out the flavor. If you are concerned with health, you can get by without adding extra salt. This makes for a great quick meal, and I have been having it with these spicy seaweed tempura snacks I also found online here too (the brand is Tao Kae Noi). I will definitely purchase this again!

I'm japanese..
I'm vegan but I used to love regular miso soup(miso soup based with fish broth)I got a big sick a couple years ago, since then even a light of flavor of fish are really bothered me..This is for vegan,no fish no meat ingredients which is great.one compliment is dried tofu is soo sweet! So I have to pick those out before add hot water in bowl. other than that I really enjoying.hope seller reading my reviews as am japanese.

A bit expensive for what you get
First of all I do really like these, they are not quite as tasty or cheap as the Miko brand, but surely more healthy being a product from Japan. (12 tiny meals for $39 vs. 8 tiny meals for $6). The portions are really small.... I was just making a bowl of soup, and added a 2nd "lump" lol to have some flavor. So, overall... I doubt i'll buy these again at this price, it's just not very cost effective. If you can afford it though, give them a try... they are super quick to make and would probably make a good gift for college kids or something. 3 Stars because of the price / small serving size, and 1 star off because I do think the Miko brand (and others i've had over the years) have a better flavor.Edit-I am changing my review to 4 stars because the red miso with mushrooms is pretty awesome... even has maiitake !still one star off for the price... but i actually like these better now after going back and having one of the aforementioned brand...i probably WILL buy these again... but just get the red miso.

Tastes delicious but too expensive
The flavor was great, I bought some to eat at the office, i just added hot water and instantly had miso soup, There was real mushrooms, it tasted perfect. One package only makes around 6 oz, and I feel I need to eat at least 2 servings to satisfy me, and it only comes with 4.I probably won't buy regularly because of the prices it costs for so little.

Great flavor, steep price
I bought these to have for quick work lunches. I was intrigued by the spicy red miso and mushroom flavor, and it didn't disappoint. This soup comes as foil-wrapped cubes - add 6 ounces of hot water and let everything rehydrate, then enjoy! The mushrooms were flavorful and plentiful. The down side here is the price. $13 for 4 servings of miso is pretty steep. It's better than spending $10 on a calorie filled lunch, to be sure, but I will try to find instant miso that is equally tasty for a better price.
