This is a absolutely comprehensive book. I researched the Brandenburgers for a book I wrote about a year ago. (Murder In Mexico) This book would have made my research much quicker. There were political aspects of the Brandenburgh Mission that were documented in a manner well beyond my research. In fact, a historian serving as a guide at the courthouse in Nurembergh told me he had never heard that information, just 2 years ago.

These men were the 1st official SOF. They were unique men from all over the world who chose to serve Germany. They had multiple skill sets. This book discusses the details of the intelligence agency which they answered to. It discusses their organization which I found to be very detailed. It also covered many of their missions which took place all over the world. Outstanding book on a special breed of men whose efforts were in vain.
