Hilly Off Road Socks

I have used Hilly socks for years, they have never let me down.Would highly recommend.

These socks are 50% wool, which is worth mentioning because other ‘wool’ socks can be closer to 20%They fit well but may come up fractionally bigger than other brands’ xl socks.I wear a running shoe size 12 so I would be at the lower end for an XL sock and these were just right with maybe a tiny fraction too much material around the heel.No problems on a 3.5 hr run / walk with steep descents today.

These socks last a long time and retain their comfort. I have used them in temperatures from 0 to 30c.My only problem was with Amazon's packaging and delivery. It could have been packaged to fit through a typical letter box, but it was put into a box 21.5 x 8 x 4 inches. with a load of padding paper, which does not seem environmentally friendly. Also it was left on neighbor's property but they recorded it as "Parcel was handed to resident."

I wanted a higher length pair of winter running socks, the picture shows them as quite high. Not so, they are just an anklet socks and they are not designed as right and left, even the cheapies from aldi have that. I returned them, Falke look a much better bet

Straight out of packet, on feet, up and down Snowdon in newish shoes, no blisters no hot spots, they work for me 👍

Bought these after repeated arch blisters hoping that they would help. They didn't. In fairness, the socks are reasonably well made. But not more so than the £2.99 Aldi version. Also, wicking in any footwear is a bit of a nonsense in my opinion, my feet were just as damp with these compared to standard cotton sports socks. Tighter shoes plus some preemptive zinc oxide tape is the way forward for me. More serious runners will possibly have a different opinion, but for me these were a bit of snake oil. I'll keep my money next time.

Big fan of the "marathon fresh" sock, but since I've started to do more trail races I noticed my feet getting a little bit chilly out on the hills. These have the same blister free properties of my other socks yet an extra bit of warm for those winter / cold muddy runs!

Absolutely brilliant socks. Warm, quick drying and extremely comfortable. My new faves!
