a brilliant album!
have loved this album since i first bought the original back in 1993 when it came out in the us. absolutely brilliant!while every song moved me in it's own way, my favorite track remains "stray thoughts", which i've used as a lullaby for my nephew and both my daughters.one of these days i'll even actually make it to one of eleanor's new york shows (have had tickets and missed 2 so far). :)until then, her recordings and the occasional youtube clip will have to do.cheers!

Prefer Yola
I liked Yola better. On this album she is not that articulate and the words are often hard to understand.

Simply incredible
I buy a lot of music, and I don't always know anything about an artist before I buy... once in awhile I will just nab something off the discount/used rack because I get a good vibe off the packaging... from the smile on the artist's face... intangible stuff.Sometimes I find that I've bought absolute, forgettable crap this way... and sometimes I strike gold. This album is in the latter category by astronomical measures; lyrically, musically, production, soul, wit, heart... it's total goosebumps. It is one of my favorite albums... ever. I don't have this remastered version... I have the original. If you are wowed by the best of the best in terms of songwriting, buy one or the other... you will not regret it.

Magical songbird; heartfelt lyrics
I adore this album and play it sparingly but without self-conscious rationing, and it sounds fresh and inspiring as the day i discovered EM.I thought she was pretty well known but the frontispiece of Charles 'The Graduate' Webb's clever novel, "New Cardiff", actually asks for contact details so as to rectify the book's lack of proper acknowledgment (and presumably some sort of copyright fee). Since "Cardiff" is shortly to be filmed, with 'Heart' probably prominent on the soundtrack, I have no doubt that Webb's publishers will need to seek no further.A gorgeous voice to rival any around and a phrasing that's all her known. We can't hear too much of Ms Mcevoy or be blessed too soon with her next album.

A Great Album Made Better
This remastered version of McEvoy's first album does not disappoint - the original was good and this is even better. The inclusion of the bonus track adds to the already great playlist. If you don't own this one you should be ashamed and buy it straight away.

Good high fidelity sound
For her 'first' album, this is confident , accomplished and intimate, with excellent songs and backing musicians. A joy !

Magic voice
Magic lady. Lovely voice. Have seen here live and so impressed. Shame she is not so well known in UK.
