I saw these nives at Costco and bought them for a good friend, at the time we were shopping togther and some young lady said she had them and liked them so much she was giving them as gifts. Well my next trip to Costo I purchased one for my friend I was shopping with and when I gave to her for Christmas she laughed and said I went back and bought my own. I said great give them back and I will get you something else. So I took them home opened the package and OMg the best best knives I ever had. You don't have to use any hand mussell to cut a thing. My partner loves them so much that we went to Amazon to get them for his brother and they are so inLove with them. I just got a note from his girl friend saying thank you so much for the wonderful knives. She went on to say they are the best knives she has ever worked with and to be careful cause there are really sharp. Yes she cut her self in all the joy of using them. I would recommend these to all my family and friends. My sister said she juat got hers the other day Thank you to Komachi and Amazon for a great product.

I purchased my first set of these Komachi knives at Costco about 6 years ago for $20 and have used them everyday since. They do get dull overtime and can be resharpened but that doesn't last too long. So I got tired of waiting for my husband to resharpen them and splurged on a new set even if the price had doubled by now. These are my everyday knives and I use them for everything. I am very pleased with my new set. I hand wash them because the dishwasher detergent can dull good knives. They are very sharp, be careful with them. Love the sheaths which we use when traveling on vacation to the beach or other accommodations where we we will be cooking. I can't chop without them.

Great value for money. A bachelor or student could do a lot with these knives, one carbon steel skillet, an aluminum half sheet and a saucepan. In our house they are the backup plan to our costlier, front line knives and they hold their own. The covers make them drawer safe, they take a good, sharp edge, they are easy to identify and some do unique jobs (like the sandwich knife). When visitors help in the kitchen, during holiday meals prep or anytime you want to cut raw salad makings and raw chicken with no chance of cross contamination, this set saves the day.

I was looking for similar knives to the ones they sell at Costco, and if you're doing that too, look no further! These knives are really durable, colorful, and work like a charm. I would recommend to anyone. It's a little annoying to have to take the covers on and off, but that would be my only petty complaint. I guess I could always get a magnetic knife holder. If you're on the fence about it, I'd go for it!

I happened to use these knives at a vacation home. I kept thinking how awesome they were - ultra sharp. When my son-in-law mentioned how much he liked using them, I knew it wasn't just me. We used them all week long, and they cut everything - even tomatoes - smoothly. Costco wasn't selling them anymore, so I ordered them from Amazon. I love the fact that they're all in their own little holders (lest we cut off a few digits). These are sharper than my current knives after being sharpened. Bravo!

I love these knives. I have had one for about 4 years and never had to sharpen it.My only complaint is that one of this set came with the coating starting to flake off...

These knives are fantastic! They sharpen up beautifully and the sheaths keep them from getting damaged or cutting your fingers off when reaching into the drawer. We have given these as gifts and feel certain that they are being used and enjoyed every day, just like the ones we were given years ago.

These knives cut better than my $200 Chicago Cutlery set! Other brands try to imitate the colorful knife set but don’t be fooled the brand has to be Pure Komachi. Only wish they did a more normal colored butcher block set that I could have sit out on my kitchen counter.
