The acacia wood looks beautiful and feels solid and well-made. Assembly was straightforward, and the lid opens smoothly and stays open without issues. It has plenty of space for outdoor cushions and gardening tools, and it works perfectly as a storage bench on the patio. Overall, great value for the price and looks much nicer than plastic storage boxes.

Really like this deck box--looks good indoors for storing yoga props and exercise equipment; good size. It is fairly easy to put together; found it needed two people--one to hold and one to screw parts together. Assembly was easy otherwise. Everything aligned. Color was what was on the website--not super light, but with slightly dark tints here and there. Would not mind having a stick or something to keep lid open in the future. Right now everything is tight and lid remains open when pushed up, but eventually I am sure things will loosen and lid will need something to prop it open. Feels sturdy enough to sit on, although not sure how long it would last if used as a bench.

Overall, I think this is a great value and would buy another one in in a bigger size and even take the time to buy the right screws. This is a nice looking box with a pretty ring to pull the lid open. It went together fairly easily--I'm not very strong and have a bad back, but I was able to get the whole box together except for the lid, then my husband helped and it went together in about 5 minutes. I disagree that the instructions are not good-the instructions are just pictures, but the parts are labeled in the pictures. I was worried when I saw picture instructions because I usually have a hard time with IKEA furniture, but if you just look carefully you can see which part is the top/bottom (bottom has an extra piece of wood for the bottom panel to sit on) and the proper way to orient the side panels (hinges are installed an inch or two closer to the back of the side panel). That said, I agree with the other reviewer about the screws being too small--even though the kit included enough screws, I couldn't get the included screws through the hinge openings. Until they fix this kit, I'd suggest getting 4 screws that have a smaller diameter than the M4x15mm screws they include. The other small screws worked fine for the hinges along the back panel and top panel. Also, super important--don't use a drill/driver to install then screws! Just like another reviewer said, you will crack the wood. The hand wrench they give you works fine and doesn't take long. You'll also need a Phillips head screwdriver. I don't know why they say you need a flat head and a hammer in the instructions; I didn't use those at all. Finally, measure your patio cushions if you're buying this to store them. This only stored 2/3 of my cushions because I had to put them in at an angle. I think the inside dimensions are only 16x15x40-something--long enough but not wide enough to lay them flat.

This is a nice box. We purchased it with the intent of keeping our summer bags and towels in one place. We are using it indoors. It was really easy to assemble it, basically you just connect the walls together with screws, then you add the mechanism, screw in the lid and finally drop in the bottom part. 10-15min tops. They provide all hardware. I love the smell of wood also, which is nice and smooth. The lid has a nice round metal piece for opening. It’s mentioned in the instructions book that if used outdoors after a while if you want to keep the wood vibrant and to protect it you can re-coat it with something like tung oil or similar. It fits everything that we intended to keep in it. It’s a nice box and I preferred it over a plastic one indoors.

This is actually gorgeous but the hinges on mine are broken. Still need to find a way to fix them on my own because I never returned it,

It didn't quite fit the all the new chair cushions (oddly enough, the reviewers of the cushions said they weren't puffy enough) but there were 8 (2 each for 3 rockers and 2 for adirondack chairs), so I decided to buy another one for more room, and to keep the hot tub stuff right by the tub. I can't speak to the weather proof aspect, but nothing lasts forever. I'll probably just oil them to extend their lives. The box is sturdy and the wood is much nicer looking than the plastic. And it's definitely a good deal for the price. Assembly is easy till one gets to the lid, but I realized that I had to screw in the big hinge so that the small hinges would line up. A fair amount of cursing escaped my mouth before I figured it out, but all in all it wasn't too hard to assemble. The instructions are very clear and easy to understand. As with some of the other reviewers, I'm a woman in my late 60s and 4'10" on a good day. I was able to wrangle it and am even going to try and get it outside by myself, though that could be lots of fun to watch. I received it really quickly and everything was included. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase.

Strong and sturdy and lovely aesthetic! It smelled a little weird but hey it’s real wood what can you expect? Aired it out and it went away.

Not entirely Cedar Very thin wood. Would not take the weight of a person sitting on it Hinges aren’t marked. Pain in the side putting this together. Difficult to assemble unnecessarily.

I love this product and I will be purchasing a second one.

I bought this for blanket storage but I would be hesitant to use it outdoors where it might be exposed to our harsh Canadian winters. The top and outsides are the most "finished" - which is fine and the hardware is really good quality. Was a nice surprise to find the hinges pre-attached and all we had to do was put in some screws into pre-drilled holes! My husband evens loves it and wants me to order another one!

It's a storage box alright. Pretty flimsy though, and if you wanted this to stay outside please reconsider - it is NOT weather resistant! There has been a serious drought here this summer and with the little rain we did get, this box started to get mold on top. Mold! On what should be an outdoor storage box. Do not buy this if you plan on having this exposed to the elements. Also with the gaps in the wood, anything inside will be wet when it rains. So it's a box, it stores things, but it does so very badly for what its intended purpose is, because it is 100% not meant to be outside.

Great size for what I wanted it to be. But the smell is horrible. I wiped it down with vinegar, but it didn't work. So I washed it with a lot of water and airing it out under the sun for a few days. I'm hoping it will work.
