Too good to be true
This is the first time I have ever submitted a review, but I felt strongly enough that I needed to let others know that there are serious issues with this item. In theory, this is a great desk. I wanted it for my living room so that I could work when I needed to at home, and then tuck it out of the way when appropriate. First, I am no amateur when it comes to assembling furniture. We'll just suffice it to say, I have assembled many pieces, with others and on my own. Second, the cam locks this came with were not the ordinary standard cam locks and instead of using metal guides for the drawers, I was given little strips of wood. Okay, I was game. Until...I saw how much wood glue they provided. Two little tubes. Tiny. AND they expected you to glue the drawers together as well as each side of the desk for the grooves to the wood glides. Simple...got more wood glue on my own. But still, even after letting it set and using some clamps. It didn't seem very sturdy. But I wanted to use my new desk. So I put all my supplies in...not overloaded by any means. I could still see drawer space on the bottom. Nothing heavy on top at all. I think I might have put my laptop on it once. (I was scared to leave it there.)I used the desk for maybe two days and the bottom cam lock started to go. One of the issues is you've got these really heavy fold-down pieces supported by not very much desk. There are some cam locks but other than that it's the wooden glides and the drawers. I tried to save it...a couple of times. But it was a lost cause. So the bottom cam locks that were bearing most of the weight tore through the bottom support and the whole thing folded in on itself. :(Definitely not worth $150. Now to be fair, this was all around holiday season and I didn't even try to contact the manufacturer or seller to see if they would do anything to make it right, but I would definitely not purchase anything made by this manufacturer again. I thought this would be the perfect desk and the price wasn't that bad, but in the end, it was too good to be true.

Good desk, but a pain to assemble.
I really liked the desk once assembled. Assembling it, however, was not fun. A lot of the pieces needed to be glued together as opposed to nailed, so there is drying time involved (as well as the mess). Don't expect to get this done fast. Also, only one small bottle (1 or 2 oz) of glue was supplied, and much more is needed. Go buy a 8 oz bottle of wood glue before you start. We had a problem getting the drawers to fit and slide in smoothly, so we called the customer service number that came with the product. The gentleman we spoke with was very helpful. He recommended sliding a soap bar over the parts where the desk and the drawers touch, and that worked like a charm except for two drawers. The customer service department then sent out pieces for two brand new drawers at no extra cost, and they fit perfectly. It is really nice when a company will stand by their product.

Ikea grade furniture without the easy Ikea assembly
This piece is decent for the price. It's not the sturdiest, but you get what you pay for. The wood and assembly pieces are Ikea-grade, so if you assemble it correctly and treat it gently I'm guessing it will hold up over time (we shall see). Two issues:1. The assembly is more time-consuming than most Ikea furniture. It two me about 2 or 2.5 hours. I don't like that it requires wood glue. Speaking of wood glue, make sure you have some because they do not provide nearly enough.2. With the side table up, it doesn't seem to stay locked in place if you try to move the desk. With that, if you are clever I'm sure you can figure something out to keep it in place better.Overall, it has good functionality with the space-saving aspect and all, but don't expect it to last an eternity.

Don't expect a piece of fine furniture ... but, serves it's intended purpose very well.
Wife wanted a convenient and compactable unit to use as a sewing table ... she's pleased with this unit.Comment ... user should be advised to have on hand at assembly an ample supply of wood glue. That supplied with the kit is not nearly enough for all the suggested glue joints. This unit is pretty cleverly thought out ... you won't need access to a wood worker shop to get it assembled.

Mobile Desk
I recently moved into a small one-bedroom apartment and ordered this fold--down desk to be used for a sewing machine. I am an avid quilter and was looking for space-saving items. The one big issue I had is that only four of the five drawers would go in - the other is going to have to be sanded down along both sides of the top, thus removing the black paint. Because I am disabled and live alone, I am waiting for one of my children to find time to fix the drawer for me. Right now it is just sitting on the floor beside my mobile desk. Not much of a space saver at this time.

Hard to put together
Took my poor son-in-law all day long to put the desk together! Once assembled though, it is a nice desk that suits my purpose for space and to use my sewing machine. A lot of drawer space. Not the sturdiest, but it will do and for the price I didn't expect it to be top of the line furniture.

its not as easy as they say to put this baby together
I'm sure glade I have a shop full of tools to get this thing together it took about 2 hours for me not counting the time it took the glue to dry overnight lol

Expensive disappointment
This desk is constructed of cheap material and is poorly designed as well. The drawers are all a cardboard type material that is glued together and slid into slots with splines glued to the case serving as "drawer slides". They were difficult to slide into the case even while empty. The picture is not accurate - there is another "wing" on the other side, putting the drawers in the center - not optimal for a desk configuration. The horizontal panel in the back that holds the end panel in place as shown is hinged is flimsy, and the hinges are screwed into particle board - what is the life expectancy of THAT? We purchased this for one of our children as a student desk in our new house. It is a complete disappointment - frankly, we did not even finish the construction of the second wing and trashed the entire thing. We were hesitant when we started to un-box the components, but hoped that it would look better when assembled - big mistake. We should had returned it. This item may have been appropriate at 1/3 the price as a low-budget choice. Far better options can be purchased for the same money.
