A decent product that is nice and easy to use and better than the previous one that I owned.

The stitching on my caravan awning was starting to fail at the bottom of on one of the side doors. Thie area is under a fair amount of stress when the door is zipped closed.With this Awl Kit, I have successfully managed to reinforce the existing stitching. Granted, it is nowhere near as neat as the original, but the result is fit for purpose and secure.Using the Awl Kit takes a bit of getting used to and I would suggest practising on two pieces of cardboard just to get the hang of it.My tips for what they're worth would be.1. Fully load the bobbin/reel with thread, as if you run out during a run, it creates problems.2. Insert the needle with the grooved side in-line with the groove on the Awl shaft and FULLY tighten the cone.3. When pushing the needle through the material, ensure that you line up the needle, so that the grooved side is facing the sewing direction.Overall, I am impressed with this kit and would recommend!

It's very comfortable in the hand . And you control the needle with a little bit of practice. It's easy to get you weight behind the awl as your pushing through tough hard leather.

Arrived in normal Amazon packaging but then the Item itself came in tiny plastic bag - no instructions at all.The 2 needles were way to thick so the holes were too big.

Lots of splinters and messy finishing, needed a good sanding on the edges to make it usable, the needles it comes with are also MASSIVE so unless your sewing with rope it will leave massive holes in whatever your sewing.I fitted a machine needle for leather to it which was much better size wise, honestly the needles it come with will leave 6-8mm holes in your work, they don’t even make thread that big!!

I was adding Modifications to army Bergen and this awl made it so easy and allowed me to make a good job Saved me a lot of money

Initially I was thrilled with the Speedy tool. However, as I was completing a box stitch securing two pieces of 2.5cm canvas webbing the straight needle snapped. As this was the first of four repairs I'd planned for today it just isn't strong enough to rely on.
