Samsung Galaxy Desktop Dock (EDD-D1B1BEGXAR)

Too good of a price to pass up. This dock is a great solution for keeping and charging my old Tab 10.1 beside my bed. The Tab still works great (always running stock Android based custom ROM's) and I can't justify getting a newer tablet just for the sake of getting a new tablet. This is just a dock - it doesn't come with a charger, cord, or any other peripheral components. There is no HDMI on this dock - there's just the power cord port and audio port for connecting your own speakers (which I haven't used. This dock only works with the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 (I have a GT-P7510). It won't work with any cases on the Tab (I have a slim - low profile OEM Samsung case and it won't fit with the case installed). I'm confused by all of the negative comments. It doesn't appear that this product has been misrepresented as coming with accessories. The fact that some customers are buying this for later model Tab's and then griping when the dock doesn't fit, strikes me as being a bit silly....shame on them for not doing their homework on this item before purchasing it! Perhaps I'm just basking in the glow of paying $8 for this dock and expanding the functionality of my old Tab...probably... This dock is worthy of 5 Stars.

This was recommended along with my other Tab 2 accessories. It actually does work with the Tab2 but it's a very tight fit. I'm thinking they should have included a rubber hammer to help you get your Tab2 in the dock. I don't have a cover on my Tab2, so if you have a cover, forget about using this dock. Once in, it's a pretty solid stand. But then you have to wrench your Tab2 out of the dock.

Since I got my fancy phone, I don't use the tablet so much except at bedtime. Works great as a stand and recharging station. I DID have to take a rotary bit to the tabs on each end to make it hold my Samsung 10.2 properly, but that took all of one minute. I have two of these and they work great for charging or watching while you do something else with your hands.

This dock arrives and functions exactly as described. Why people are surprised about what it doesn't do or doesn't include, I just don't get why nobody pays attention. Yes, an included cable should have been included to add value to the package. But think about it... you get a cable with the Samsung. Simply use THIS cable to plug into the dock. You can't plug it into the tablet while docked anyway. It's not like people receive the dock and not able to use it right away. The cables are cheap and tablet owners need several anyway. Get on Ebay and get one or two more for just a few bucks. What I like about it and what really matters: It works. It fits my tablet. It looks good. What I don't like (just personal preferences): The black plastic is a dust magnet, it's very shiny and magnetic. The angle of the dock is too much. I would prefer that it would stand more upright. I put rubber feet on the back base to correct this which also aids in keeping it from slipping on my glass top desk. It takes 2 hands to remove the tablet from the dock. It's snug in there. The price COULD have included a cable but I wasn't expecting one. As far as the price, I see other docks for other products and this is in line with that. In general, most docks are priced too high for what they are. Some complain about how the tablet won't fit with a cover on. Maybe they do exist, but I have yet to see ANY dock that works with covers or sleeves attached. This complaint is ridiculous.

BE ADVISED: This dock does NOT work with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. I'm not sure what changed between the first model and this new one, but it does not seat all the in the cradle. It stops just shy of the male connector. I bought two, one for the bedroom and one for the office. Same results for both. That being said, the dock is very well made and I was very happy with the overall quality but it just doesn't work with the new Tab 2. When I purchased this the description on Amazon actually stated it would work with the Tab 2. That description is now gone so I'm guessing others have made the same mistake.

The galaxy Note 10.1 does NOT fit because of it's length. I cut out the sides with my Dremel tool and now the Note 10.1 fits perfect! In fact you can't even tell I altered it unless you look really close and the fast it's 1/5th the price of the galaxy 10.1 note stand I'm loving it. I might even buy a second one just for the office. My friends samsung tablets fit in it also, even the small ones that have the same plugs. Holds the screen up, it's solid and haven't had any issues with it. Doesn't come with the cord but that's ok I bought one for a couple dollars. Altering it. If you want to modify it follow the other reviews, but be warned, you should have someone do it that has experience. Tips - It's plastic take your time or it will melt and warp. -Cut out just the sides, if you want grind the front and back down a little where it curves that's fine, but you need them! Don't get rid of them! -If it doesn't sit good, time to grind a little bit more away. I'm in IT so it took me about 5 min, might take others longer.

I have no idea why these people rate this so poorly because it doesn't have something it never claimed to have. Does it say it includes the $20+ cable and plug? No. Do you actually expect to get the cable, adapter AND dock for under $25? EVERYONE - this is a nice dock for charging your Tab. It basically does everything the USB cord does, it just adds a stand. It does NOT have HDMI support which is part of the higher priced dock (and it doesn't say it does in the description). It does add an audio jack for speakers if you want to dock it and use it as a music player. You will have to use the cable and adapter that came with your Tab. This deserves 5 stars because it does EXACTLY what it claims to do. Good quality build too. Don't pay attention to the other ratings.

I did a search for a desktop dock for my new Samsung Galaxy Note and this dock came up. GREAT PRICE, I read the neg. Comment that it did not fit the Note 2, which I do not have. Well it doesn't fit the Note 10.1 either. I guess the price is so low it is a close out on the original Galaxy, funny I didn't know there was an older model. No choice but to cut off the ends to make it fit. Beware this doesn't fit the new Tabs. I gave it a 3 star since I share the blame.

does what it's supposed to, except its difficult to connect properly to my tab device. I have to push very very firmly to have it fit the connector properly. Too hard to make it useful in my opinion as a temporary docking device. Would be ok if used as a permanant dock.
