I was using my tv remote for my Blu-ray player but there were many instances where it wouldn’t work and I’ll need to head into the other room to use the Blu-ray remote. Nightmare. Found this as a solution and it works perfectly. Can also use it for my denom too as they are both in the same box. Very easy to install, wire is thin so easy to get through the wall to the Blu-ray player. Great value for money.

Our Blu-Ray player is located in a unit which is out of the line of sight of the infrared remote control when you're sitting watch a film. Consequently, any time you need to pause, rewind, eject etc a film, you have to stand, point the remote at the player, and keep stabbing buttons until the player responds (it never works first time). It's a frustrating experience and often spoils enjoyment of the film. To fix the problem, I'd initially tried to buy a new Blu-Ray player that has a wireless remote, rather than an IR remote - like all our other AV devices we have in the room - but it appears such a player does not exist, at any price. It seems the only remedy is an IR relay. The Cable Matters Infrared Remote Extender Cable was quickly installed and worked straight away. After a bit of experimentation (hint - tape the receiver and emitter in position with masking tape at first to find the most effective location, before using the attached adhesive to fix them permanently in position). The receiver is sensitive enough for you not to need a clear line of sight for it to respond, the devices are small enough that you barely notice them and it works first time, every time. Watching films at home is now a much more enjoyable experience. So, problem solved - and for a great deal less than the cost of a new Blu-Ray player.
