I needed some cover for my east facing side of my pergola so I figured this might be a great fit. We have storms in the south, so I thought the price was right for the risk. Picked it up and it was as expected. I didn't use screws to mount it. Instead I used tie straps. It's a very simple product. I usually roll it up when I get's windy. No issues so far and provides air flow and easy up and down. It's a quick and cheap way to keep the family cool.

This is a great product to block out that unwanted sun. It was easy to install and works well. You might want to add another cleat to roll the excess cord up on when you pull it up. I had a spare hook laying around and placed it about a foot lower than the cleat so I could wind the excess cord around them both and avoid the multiple tiny loops around the cleat provided. Beware is does just about completely block all breezes as well. If you have a fan on the porch it is perfect.

Be warned that these are not the easy to install and the directions are not great. Several parts were broken, but still useable. I had 2 shades I was using to cover a 12ft wide space. Broken pieces in both boxes. All in all I am happy with the look. Good value, fair quality, difficult to install

I've had one for over a year with no problems. It has no issues with mold/mildew and still looks great even though it's installed on the sunny afternoon side. It provides enough privacy and blocks out wind gusts well enough. It's relatively easy to install and easy to roll up.

While the overall product has good appearance and functionality, the assembly is definitely not something a casual home owner would want to tackle. Maybe a Do-It-Yourselfer could. Fair warning: the instructions are not in text, just graphic pictures. So you do have to figure out some stuff. I am really good at such things and it took me over two hours to measure, assemble, measure again the hanging points, hang it up, thread the pull cord, and hang a weight I had on the pull cord to keep it taut. It works smoothly and it is lightweight enough to raise and lower easily and it looks good. The parts quality is typical of a low-end product with inexpensive pulleys, brackets, and poorly manufactured metal rods (slightly curved and poorly tapped and die-cut) for stiffening and hanging weight. Definitely not worth the over $200 price tag that should have been more like $90-130 considering the parts quality. Living near the ocean, I expect the steel parts will eventually rust so I painted them with a rust preventative to give them a longer life.

Took me a while to get out together and then up but I’m so excited that it’s up! Directions were pretty easy to follow. I got a bit confused when doing the chord and pulley but I’d advise to get it started before you get the screws all the way in the top pieces. I had to unscrew them a bit to get the chord around to tie knots at the end. Otherwise it works perfectly and I’m excited that I get to be on my porch more often this summer!

I question the quality of the components and durability of this product although I was not able to fully install and test it. Although it is expected that the installation is not very easy as you need to be on a ladder to put up the hardware and then connect the shade, the last step called for installing the cords in an elaborate manner of ups and downs on ladders that was just not very safe. It is poor design, in my opinion, or else the instructions could be modified to install the cord before you put up the shade. Either way, if you are going to install this, I would recommend having two people do it. Additionally, the hardware that connects the shade to the structure is not very secure...they are small screws and on one of the brackets it just rests on the screws. I was not confident that in a decent breeze the shade would stay up. Lastly, if you assemble the screen to the top and bottom bars (which is the first instruction) you can't disassemble them - if you did, you will likely have to rip the screen. Therefore, I'm not able to return the product as it's several feet long. Ugh!!!

This shade went up easy. You need 2 people but wasn’t difficult. We like the sleekness & the ease to put up & down. We keep it down mostly but no problem to pull up. The color worked well. We are pleased & we would buy again
