My next alternative was to redo my composite deck which would be a small fortune which I did not bargain for. I found this product on desertcart and applied the two coats as suggested. Look at my brand new deck. The bleached areas are no longer apparent. Color went on yellow but dried to a beautiful brown. I would like to change it to a more brown color?** A: We applied this to a mahagony colored composite deck. It turned out to be more redwood than it was before. We were very happy with our outcome. **Q: how many square feet will 1 gallon cover?** A: I depends how much will absorb to the blanks. I used the same product last year in a very old Trex decking (the top layer was going to saw dust:)) and was only able to cover approx. 12 x 20 area with a gallon. Did other job year earlier on a deck that was in much better shape and was able to cover double of the area. **Q: I currently have a brown composite deck. If I get the grey tone will it cover the brown? Wasn't sure if this is more of a clear-type coating** A: Once it dried on my blush colored deck (from fading), the brown was more like a wash. It seemed a bit transparent. It also did not cover evenly; definitely more dense in some spots than others. I am considering doing a second coat this spring. I would recommend going from one end of the deck boards to the other. Truly a money 💰 saver! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fading after a year *by E***A on October 21, 2023* The color is great but two problems. The smooth edge trim pieces don't hold the stain but the grainy pieces do okay. I definitely will have to add a second coat and I believe it will look great. I don't know what do do about the smooth edge pieces. I hope the second coat will help. Doing that tomorrow. Update on the second coat. All looks great except the smooth edges. There is a little bit of show-through and the new stain can be scratched off with my finger nail. Just have to be cautious and not slide anything on it. 2024 Update...The coating has started to fade and getting spotty. Made need a follow up coating. It is now Jan. 2025 and the coating is really fading badly. Not sure I want to apply it again.
