I'm 5' 11" and 225 pounds. Most shirts I wear are either size L or size XL - depending upon the brand and style. For dress shirts, I wear a 17 inch collar with 34/35 sleeve, with a classic or athletic cut. I purchased an XL of this shirt and agree that it was about 2 sizes smaller than what I would be able to comfortably wear. It was completely fitted from the shoulders through the torso, so I think "slim fit" is a better classification (not a "regular fit"). It was very stretchy, so I was able to put it on, but there was no "hang" of the shirt away from my body. Lastly, I also noticed how thin the shirt material was.

Out of the package this shirt fit well, felt comfortable and looked good for the price point. the care instructions are to machine wash and tumble dry low. However, one spin in the dryer and it shrank so much it wasn't a comfortable fit anymore. Yes, it's described as an athletic fit, which it is, but this shirt went from a cut close to the body but loose to being so tight across the chest that my nipples show - not a good look for guys imho.Also, there is a tag at the neckline that is very uncomfortable, it's barely sewn on so the corners of the tag lift and become irritating so I used a seam ripper to remove it. If you really want these shirts be sure to buy at least one size up and have a seam ripper or sharp scissors and maybe you'll be okay.

I bought several of these shirts, and washed and hung to dry. The shirts are thin, and shrunk down a little- a little too snug for my taste, but still a lightweight and comfortable shirt. I would order a size larger next time. i like having a bit of extra room for my 5'9" 225lb frame. they are still good shirts but now know to order a size larger
