This is the third pack of these I've purchased. I live in an old building built in 1926. The walls are all lathe and plaster and there is picture rail through-out. These have been awesome and easy to use. The aircraft cable is strong.Depending on the aesthetic you want, you may want to buy the kits with a white hook bracket vs silver, or you can also paint them.PRO TIP: I'd recommend taking a pliers and bending the two spike "tips" of the bracket in just a bit to make them into sort of teeth that will better hook into the picture rail and be less prone to getting knocked out or moving around. It's subtle but in my case it's made a huge difference. You can also experiment with more extreme amount of bend or creating longer "teeth".I've attached pictures to show what I mean.

So versatile and easy to use! I recently moved into a house built in the early-mid 20th century with plaster walls and plate rails in every room. I have been able to hang my various art works, my 50" TV, and even my weather station display without any problems (see photos). Only drawback is that the package contains only one type of hook, which makes it difficult to hang some pieces, depending on the size of the hole on the piece (again, see photo). Easily corrected, though by ordering different hooks. If you have plate railing, you need these hooks!

Works as described however it is a bit large conveying that industrial look.

I need to adjust the hanging wire on the back of these pieces to hide the hooks better, and in this instance, I snipped off the end cap and slipped another hook onto the wire so I could hang two more pictures, or several more letter Ts, as shown. The woven metal strands are in a rubber sheath and very tough, but not difficult at all to snip. Plenty long, they are very versatile, especially once I thought to add more hooks!

Great value. Hooks were very sturdy and did not bend under the weight of a rather large painting. Easy to adjust the height and the cable is coated in plastic so it doesn't scratch anything. Would purchase again
