They make a noise.
They're whistles. They make a noise when you blow em. Pretty much what you'd expect. The lanyard and connectors are pretty poor, but the whistles themselves are top notch. Handy to keep in hiking bags, purse, whatever. Could save your life.

Good Safety whistle
Purchased for hiking, in case I get lost or injured, will carry one in my first aid kit and one on my backpack.Hopefully wont have to use it.

Disappointing
