Toddler’s favorite!
I have no idea what it is about this book, but my 1 year old is captivated. She’s obsessed and asks for “mommy, mommy!” Every single day. I think the extreme simplicity of the illustrations (which are funny - I love the bulging eyes of the chicks and mama hen) text, and plot appeal very much to a baby’s or toddler’s mind. (Not to mention their most beloved topic… mommy!) it’s sure to be a favorite for quite some time.

Baby absolutely loves this book
This book has lasted a long time and the baby has loved the book for the entire time. It is enjoyable for the child and not tedious for the parent. It has simple, easy to repeat words. It seems to be enjoyed for different reasons as the baby gets older.

quick, easy, read your toddler won't stop reading
My 2 yr old loves this book and wants to read it all the time. to an adult it seems very simple, boring and maybe confusing as to why a child would like this book. But I realized they are learning how to look for mommy. plus it is funny.

She LOVES it!
I was excited to get this book but it doesn't have many words and is boring in my opinion. BUT...my 20M old daughter LOVES it. She wan't to read it over and over and asks for it by name.

You (probably) won't go crazy reading this one
Our 19 month old daughter is obsessed with "Mama Mama." She doesn't quite get the visual joke with the flower and the sun, but she thinks the dog is one of the funniest things on earth. I'm personally gratified because she now finally calls me "Mama" instead of "EHHH EHHH HIIIII"

Favorite toddler book
My daughter first read this book and 17 months and loved it! She would not stop laughing the first 20 times we read it. Now at 22 months old we still read this book at least once a day. She now is “reading” with me.

Delightful!
The graphics are colourful and strong enough to grip the attention of my daughter’s very young baby while also appealing to adults- not least for the implicit humor. (Chick’s mom is running away, echoing the fantasy of many a new mother- Chick, besides encountering the usual panoply of largely benign animals, is a bit startled (but not traumatised!) by a toothy monster…- of course the ending is reassuring and cozy.) utterly delightful.
