I loved they spoke about their faith in God. It was also a great adventure story. You will love it.

Wholesome Book
This book was a great collection of short stories of life in Alaska. It lost a star for being repetitive towards the end but overall it was a great wholesome read. I listened and read this with my son as it was very family friendly. I felt like I was living in Alaska.

Enjoyable reading on Alaskan adventures.
This book was such an enjoyable read! Ann’s stories about their move to Alaska and all that she and her husband, Shon, went through easily drew me into their journey.

Disappointed!
This was an ok book. I've read better and I've read worse. What really bothered me was where she describes a scene where they thought their dog had killed their rooster and she describes her husband running aroung beating their dog. To me she sounded amused that he was doing this. I almost closed the book then and there. It completely changed my opinion of the author. I won't read another one by her.

I can’t say enough good about this book
This book already had me at the adventure part but the way the author tied in what is truly important, God and Jesus, that I was truly hooked.

Kept me Reading to the End
I think a lot of people wonder what it would be like living in Alaska. It seems to be one of the last wild frontiers left in the U.S. This couple decided, after a harrowing life in law enforcement, to move to Alaska, now knowing at all what would be required of them. During the first year they almost gave up on their dream and went home. Even delivering all their possessions to a cabin almost overwhelmed them. But they persevered, got used to a totally new lifestyle, and made their new home a successful venture. The narrative was very interesting and it kept me reading. That's saying something from a bookworm who's been reading pretty much non-stop since I was a kid.

As good as any suspense novel!
This personal account of one couple's adventures and plain hard work in an isolated piece of Alaska had me turning page after page, hating to put it down for less exciting things like sleeping, work, etc. Ann has a gift for making even the everyday chores sound fascinating.

A good read
A great read! Readers should know that their are religious quotes and references that some people may or may not enjoy. It does not take away from a good story. Personally, I always take what I enjoy in book and leave the rest.

Thoroughly enjoyed
I bought this book as a gift, so the review is not technically my own. The recipient of this book absolutely loved it and finished it within just a few days. So he would give it a great review!
