What the Wind Showed to Me: Volume 1 (Books for Dementia Patients)

The book is simply written and with a clear layout, it proved very enjoyable for Dad. For the first time in a long time Dad has read sections of the book to mum or myself, he has told us about things he has read and the book has also allowed topics for him to start conversations, mum and myself were not sure dad could still read as he was no longer showing any interest in books or newspapers - this book has shown us that he still enjoys reading and can still read fairly, it just takes him a bit longer. We are really happy with this book and we will be looking for the rest in the series as requested by Dad.

Mt granddad has dementia & Alzheimer's he loves to look at books but find it hard now so says he read them but does not.With this book it is so simple and no story but discretion of things with images, he loves it and made me buy the next book.He even tells me what the book is about. The large phone and spacing Is fantastic, I really didn't think this book would work but it really is good.

Looking for a gift for my mom in law who has Dementia. She never knows what she wants to do so we just try to keep as many things in her room at the care home so she can just pick something up to help pass the time if she chooses. Its not the most interesting book to me but its good for someone who wouldn't follow a plot I guess.

I read this to my Gran who has advanced Alzheimer’s. She doesn’t know who I am anymore and hardly remembers anything about her life but I try to read this book every time I visit.One day she started quoting bits of the book to me. I was totally amazed. All those days I spent reading to her and some of it was being stored in her memory so she didn’t know who I was but she remembered the feather floating in the breeze. Incredible. Made it all so worthwhile. Thank you.

Every dementia patient is different. This just didn't suit my Mum to have read to her. Too ordinary and uneventful a story line. She's more of a Paddington fan! No complaints except that it would have been nice to have been able to see more than the first page online before buying.

Enjoyed by the reader, a bit smaller than expected.

Read these books to my Grandma who has dementia. She listens intently and comments on the books.It passes the time and makes her day a little better.
