Can you stand the tablet vertical/portrait or just horizontal?

Just horizontal. It does not balance when vertical/portrait. When I want it portrait, I tip it up against something.

Does this case offer any screen protection?

Nope, just a fold over case. My daughter loves it and it fits well. With these newer screens however, I don't think screen protectors are really necessary. :)

Can a screen protector fit with this case?

I think so! We are going to order a protector for our daughters tablet too, seems like it wouldnt interfere with the case
