Q: I don’t have a Thermometer to measure when the milk returns to 77 degrees fahrenheit. If the milk is too hot, will it kill the kefir starter?

When I make yogurt the instructions say to heat milk to 180 degrees, then cool until the temp. is 111 degrees. I think 77 would be way to cool . I know it will kill the starter if too hot. But too cool won't work either.

Q: Does this work to make kefir with plant based based milk like oat milk?, like

Yes you can make Kiefer with oat milk. You have to use milk grains not water grains

Q: Is this freeze dried?

I don’t know about Texas, but frankly I was disappointed with the product. It did not work for me in Maryland even though we used it the day we received it.
