Perfect for an 8 year old

This book was purchased for my 12 yr old who's learning English. Finished it off in record time. A very enjoyable book exposes kids to real-life events.

My kids are just loving books by Gordon Korman. Loving these books!! Really looking forward to book number three in the series!!

I have been trying to find books that my 10 year old son will read which is a chore in itself!! This book was a great buy and now I am considering buying the other books int he series! He enjoyed the book and actually went back and read the book again!! If my son reads a book once it is a good thing but when he wants to read it again and I don't have to bribe him to read then I know it must be a good book!!! I'm considering reading it myself to see why he likes it so much but I am not going to question it. Great book and I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to encourage their children to read!!! This one worked for me!!!

Love Gordon Korman's face-paced writing and willingness to write about real-life turmoil and tragedy ... and his ability to handle the emotional interactions of multiple characters.

Another great read in the series, completely recommend if you have a kid that enjoys an adventure. This series brings you into a world of adventure and keeps the imagination running. My son has asked for the entire series.

My 12yo was reading this in class and forgot his copy when we went on vacation. We ordered the Kindle version so he could keep up with his class. It was action packed and fast paced. As soon as it was finished he said he'd like to read #3. That says a LOT, as he doesn't read much!
