Exceptional and Relevant!
Scott Hildreth has done it again! What looked to be and started like a typical sexy romp / one night stand type of book quickly deepened into a story with amazingly complex and unexpected characters, deeper meanings and a truly thought provoking plot line with an underlying commentary focused current events.Braxton Rourke is as cocky as they come. He’s a fixer for the Hollywood elite and makes problems disappear for the right amount of cash. He’s confident and set in his ways. And, he no longer does relationships after a failed marriage . . . a literal one and done type of guy.Anna Wilson is a successful entrepreneur visiting LA after her parent’s deaths to decide what to do with their property. She’s sworn off men after a cheating ex-husband and instead is focused on herself. But, when her sexy as sin silver fox of a neighbor offers what she hasn’t had in over 2 years, she can’t resist, even knowing it will be a one night stand. But, when the world starts changing in inconceivable ways, these neighbors will find themselves at a crossroads as individuals, as friends, as a couple and, most importantly, as humans.Honestly, The Man I Hate was super unexpected. I had no idea what was coming my way and I loved every minute of it. It highlights so many thoughts and feelings that many people are struggling with right now and gives credence to the highs and lows that most readers have felt over the past few months. As a couple, Anna and Braxton shouldn’t work. And, it doesn’t seem like they are meant to at first. I loved watching them grow and connect, even when physical closeness isn’t an option. 5 stars for The Man I Hate. Which, for me, was one of my most relevant Hildreth reads to date.

Braxton's Book! It's so good!
What a wonderful book! The Man I Hate proves once again why Scott Hildreth is one of my favorite authors. His books are always automatic purchases for me, and I’m never disappointed.I loved this story and enjoyed the journey that Braxton and Anna took me on. I knew when Braxton was introduced in Tito’s book that his story would be outstanding, and it was. There’s just something about him. Braxton has this sexy confidence that draws you to him. I understood completely how Anna felt.Anna is a sweetheart. She met Braxton under sad circumstances, but she was always such a breath of fresh air. There is a unique spin on how these two characters get to really know each other. We can all relate under the current circumstances and I believe it made their relationship that much stronger. They could concentrate on and appreciate what was really important. The secondary characters added a lot to the story. It was great getting to see Hap again, and I was thrilled with the amount of time we got to spend with him. Marge was such a special person and I liked getting to know her. Pratt was hilarious and I would love getting a story about him in the future.Overall it was a great book and I can't wait to see what we'll get next. I highly recommend reading The Man I Hate.

beyond phenomenal...you need to read this.
The Man I Hate is a book that you will not be able to put down. Forget adulting for the day and get sucked into this one. With everything going on in the world right now this book is one that should be read. It is hot, sweet and before you know it you are all in with Braxton and Anna. I love Anna and how caring she is. She can hold her own that is for sure. Then you have Braxton who will make you wet and swoon all at the same time. I love seeing all the different sides of him as the Covid-19 affects his life. This book is more then the current pandemic. This book is bringing togetherness. It brings you love when you give up hope. It brings you family when you have none left. This book brings you Hap who will have you in stiches. Scott Hildreth does this beyond phenomenal job keeping you glued to the pages. I for one forgot all my responsibilities for the day and get swept up in The Man I Hate and I'm ready to re-read it all over again because it is just that good. If I could give it more then 5 stars I would. THIS BOOK NEEDS TO BE ONE-CLICKED AND EXPERIENCED TODAY.

Scott does it again
This book is a testament to the writing ability of my hero, Scott Hildreth. Leave it to him to combine the current virus situation, a Luxury car dealership owner, sex in the front seat of a car with said dealership owner, interrupting a carjacking and throwing the perp in the trunk of a car, and you have some idea of what's to come. Add some love and a sweet woman who sees the silver lining in just about everything and you have a hit.Braxton is living life a day at a time with no goals or meaning, Anna loses her parents and comes to LA to sell their home, leaving her car dealership in Oklahoma temporarily. Talk about moving into life in the fast lane. So put together all of that along with a doom and gloom business partner of Braxton's and his very grumpy father, and you've got a best seller once again. Scott is an amazingly talented writer who has the ability to put you at the dining table eating lasagna or pounding the hell out of a chicken breast. Nobody does it better, even if they tried they couldn't. Don't miss this new release from Scott Hildreth. And don't forget he's got another brand new book as well, "Misadventures of a Biker". Its going to be awesome as well. Thanks Scott, thanks.

First book by this author, really happy that I’ve found another great author to agh to my list.Love love loved this book. Great characters, storyline was very current, and that mad the read that much more enjoyable. I love reading books with older characters, it makes for an interesting read when the characters are of a similar age, I feel a better connection to them.Great book, would highly recommend.

Braxton's Story
We finally got Braxton's story: He is now 50, sexy, gray-haired, and divorced. Former Marine. Dresses like successful businessman, always. Works as a "Hollywood Fixer", resolving issues that arise with the area's rich and famous, not always abiding by the law. Resides in LA, California area next door to 2 native Oklahoma retirees.Anna is 40, active, cute, and high-spirited. Former stripper (yeah, but she was young and trying to pay for college). Owns a small car exotic dealership in the Midwest. Divorced. Resides in Oklahoma. Visiting California to settle the estate of her deceased parents.I liked the way Scott wrote about 2020 and the Pandemic that hit the world because it became relevant to everyone. I do not know what I was expecting from this book but I loved it. These two characters on their own are great, as couple on paper it should not work, however due to covid they get to know each other and we see them come to rely on each other and connect with each other. Loved it so much as soon as I finished my digital copy I went and purchased the paperback.
