Works perfectly!
I don't know what other people are having problems with, but I couldn't be more pleased with my new laser head. I bought a new high quality mirror and an 18mm lens for my new head. After my initial adjustments it's working way better than the old crappy head & lens. My calibration is off now so I need to recalibrate my software to my machine but that's not a big deal. I haven't permanently hooked up the air pump yet because I bought the wrong size hose. Oops! I temporarily hooked it up with the too-big hose and it works amazingly! My experience: - I didn't break a lens because I didn't screw it down too tight - Nothing is coming loose because I put a tiny bit of blue Loctite on the threads - I didn't need to machine a custom part for it to blow better because I have an 800gph pump that works great - It came with an adapter ring so I could use the original crappy tiny lens if I wanted to, but why would you? - I didn't have to adjust my bed because the lens is the exact same height as the original - Some instructions would have been nice, but definitely not necessary. There's only 3 parts, 2 screws and a mirror clamp and the thing is already assembled, so all you have to do is take it apart and pay attention! There are also YouTube videos out there if you need a hint or guidance. I mean, if you're smart enough to configure, adjust and run a laser you should be smart enough to figure this out! If I needed another one I would buy this again! It's not a car so don't torque things down too tight, use a little loctite to keep things together, and get an adequate air pump. Success!

Good stuff but small issue
Love it. One issue, the screw that came installed to hold the air assist portion on the head was not quite right on the end and wouldn’t screw-in tight enough to hold it in place. To fix this I ground the end of the screw down to get to the good threads and it worked perfect. Still giving it 5 stars because it is a great deal at $20 and serves its purpose well.

Great piece
At first I was torn about this. The lens and mirror part worked perfect. It literally took me forever to get the air assist pet to work right without bouncing the beam off the inside. I don’t know why it took me so long to figure out that I needed to put it on first and then connect the air assist line. Works perfect

Good quality replacement head - does not natively support 12mm lens. Check yours!
The quality of this laser head is good. In full disclosure, I should have read the description carefully as I have a 12mm lense and the smallest this will support with the supplied adapter ring is 15mm. It was just easier to spend another $25 for an 18mm lense. One odd thing I noticed and it should not be a problem, but… the bore diamater under the lens of my stock laser is 10.5mm. This is a good fit for the 12mm lens and allows for most of the lense to pass through light. The new head, designed for a much larger lens, only has a bore of 9mm. Seems like a waste of lens space! Seems to work ok.

A must have for cutting with the k40
A must have for cutting with the k40, well made and no metal burrs, easy to install and align, the 18 mm lens holder is a plus and a step up from the factory 12mm lens that comes with the k40 which allows for better lenses to be installed

Quality part.
This head is awesome. It can hold different sizes of lenses if need, the air blown into keeps the lens free from dirt, the air again blown downwards keeps the material from burning at slow speeds, and it doesn’t catch on fire like my 3D printed on did. It is also easy to assemble and looks amazing

Perfect flow
All works as it should. You don’t have to pull the mirror to install either, as its parts are compatible with existing housing. Its only flaw is the small intake connector for the air tube. Have to step down the tubing from the compressor, which can be aggravating. Otherwise I’ve had zero issues.

It could have been better.
The screw kept loosening up. Pulley manufactures almost always use two set screws to keep the pulleys from loosening up. I had to drill, tap and add a second screw so it wouldn't fall off. This solved the problem of the screw being in a bad location as well. My cutter and a lot of K40 cutters come with a 12 mm lens. It would be nice if it had come with the washer so it would fit so I didn't have to cut my own. When installing the mirror has to be perpendicular to the laser beam I don't know how others align it. I used a dowel across the laser entrance hole and eyeballed it. It took several attempts to get it right. A flat edge would be nice to aid in the alignment. The original head has more tolerance if the laser is not centered. Because the laser was hitting the head I needed to add spacers under the flat mount to raise the head which moved the laser forward in the opening. I expect that I will need to realign it when I take the lens out to clean it because of how the knurled ring tightens on the head. I believe I can fix that by using parts from the original head. Because of my other modifications I have the Z axis space to do this.
