I am really pleased with this sweater coat. The quality is excellent. I was concerned about sizing and read the reviews to help me decide the best size to get. If you are also concerned here are my details. I am 5'2" and weigh 120 lbs. I take a size 8 pant and wear a size 8 dress. I chose the size medium and happy that I did as I wanted enough room to wear extra layers underneath. I wore it at first with a turtleneck and it looked really good, though there is just enough room for a light fleece or extra layer like a down sweater. The sleeves are a little on the long side but not so long that I have to turn them over at the wrist. The fit is really just perfect for me and looked great with jegging jeans and high boots. The buttons secure the sweater so it hangs just beautifully for a really smart look. I recommend it highly!!! Very happy!!!

Soft,, cozy, warm and so perfect for my trip to England this autumn! They created this sweater coat in the most classy shade of dark navy blue...I need to write to the company and compliment them...I love it that much. I didn't want them to run out of my size and color. It came all the way from Ireland within one week! I think that this sweater coat would look good on anyone!P.S. I am 5' 7 and curvy...not slim. The large fits me perfectly.

Better than the picture. SO warm! I have had numerous compliments on this sweater. It is a gorgeous navy blue. I have barely taken it off since purchasing. I have a tendency to be cold while indoors in Winter and this thing is the perfect live in companion for me. I can go directly outdoors into the windy chill of New England and can barley feel it. I ADORE this sweater. It fits a little bit bigger than I expected so I rolled up the sleeves a little. I wear my clothes loose and long and it's just right for me.The length hits a few inches above the knee. Repels water. Quality is excellent.

Quick correction to the description provided; this is a (5) button total, sweater-coat. There are 4 external buttons on the left side, and an inside button on the right. The sweater wraps around and can be worn closed or open, has two side pockets to keep your hands toasty warm. The sizing is true to size, with the wool soft (not scratchy) and warm. The sleeve length is perfect fit for me. The length falls to upper thigh (I'm 5'4"). The stitching on this sweater is absolutely beautiful as with most well made genuine Irish imported sweaters. Irish wool sweaters are wearable art, as I have at last count 9 of them (each one different), they will hold up for years and years with proper care (never hang them, fold only and do not wash but dry clean when needed).I also want to comment on the vendor: Carroll's Irish Gifts. They are extremely easy to work with, as I had another transaction (a men's sweater) and they went out of their way to work through the issue. They are a class act as a retailer with customer satisfaction as their focus. I could have picked up my latest sweaters direct from the vendor, but Carroll's service and pricing had me purchasing additional sweaters from them vs. the vendor.

I first purchased this in a large, which is my normal size, but ended up being too big in the chest, across the shoulders and in the length of the sleeves. However I am only 5-foot tall, so too long sleeves was to be expected. Overall it hit just above the knee which wasn’t too bad. I returned for a medium and that one looks much better, overall length is about the same, fits perfect through the shoulder and only a touch long in the sleeve but that’s something I can live with. It still feels a little loose in the chest but at least I can wear layers underneath. The color is gorgeous and great quality material and knit. But I’m still concerned the style may just not be for me. I’m gonna think on it some more and have ordered another sweater from this company in the same color but a shorter style to see if I like that one better. Definitely reluctant to not get anything from this company as the sweaters are beautiful.

If I were to rate it straight out of the box - I would give it 5 stars. However after wearing it for a week I must say this coat is pilling a lot. I have similar one in color "parsnip" (light beige kind of color) and do not have a problem there. Also got this coat in size Lg and sleeves are longer than on my other XL one. The positive thing is that the shape is very flattering and the dark color conceals the pilling somewhat.

I gave this as a Christmas gift to my Mother. The quality is genuine & the color brings out her beautiful Bonnie blue eyes;) The fact that it's handmade made in Ireland made it even more special fir her.I ordered a small - she wears a small/medium or 6/8 and some reviewers mentioned it runs a little big. The size small fits her well. Maybe not for wearing thick clothing under but definitely a long sleeve t or a thin sweater.We live in Georgia so the winters are mild. I expect she'll be able to wear this on most winter days instead of her heavy coat.It really is a wonderful coat. I might order one for myself!

This sweater is unbelievable! So perfect, navy blue is so classic. Excellent quality!!! I got the small fits perfect with a tee underneath, if you want to wear something heavy underneath ( although you don't need it, it's super warm in 30 degree weather!!) I'm sure it would fit. I'm 5'7 130lbs. It's super warm best for cold weather climates! I'm on the north east coast ( we had a warm winter) but it's lovely sweater

Absolutely in love with this sweater. The navy colour is just perfect. It is so warm. It is not itchy at all. That was my biggest concern. It's chunky as expected and runs a little big, so it's perfect for layering. I could probably have gotten away with a medium (I usually wear large) if I wanted a more snug fit.
