GIVI PL1121 Pannier Holder

The rack itself is well constructed and holds the Givi Trekker monokey bags securely. (Please note that this hardware will only mate with some Givi cases. Be sure you have the right ones.) However, you also will need additional motorcycle model/brand connecting hardware (~$100), and, at least in my case (CB500x), an additional model year kit (~$50). As I said, the system seems to be very secure and the bags attach and detach with no hassle. However, they do mount the bags with quite a bit of empty space between the bike and each bag resulting in a much wider overall package than I expected given the rather flat design of the side cases.

Besides this kit, you need either the top mount kit or the side mount kit. And if you have a newer ('16 or later I think) bike, there's yet another kit which is more of an adapter to fit some exhaust area changes in the later CB500X design. The price really adds up, and the kit names are confusing (I had these 3 kits: PL1121, PL1121-KIT, and 1121-KIT for my 2017 bike).Even after buying all these kits, there were still 2 nuts missing. The directions for the main kit said the nuts were included in another kit, but they weren't on the parts list of the other kits. So I had to run to the hardware store and find these metric nuts (both size M8-1.25). These cost under a dollar, but weren't the same material and were not locking nuts which would have been more appropriate for the purpose they serve. They really should have just been included.The Givi frame parts were not exactly built to tight tolerances, so some pushing and prodding was needed to get everything to fit. Eventually I got it all built, and it feels solid once installed.If you want Givi luggage this is probably the way to go, but it is not without some annoyances and costs.

A bit misleading. You'll still need an additional piece to connect the pannier carrier to the bike. If you want a top case, also order the Givi 1121FZ. If just the panniers, add the Givi 1121KIT. I was disappointed when I got the PL1121 and was unable to install because I was missing a $100 USD piece of hardware.
