Fantastic Love story with a twist.
Totally loved this book!Loved the way the story just flowed.The characters are so loveable,Christian the vampire,is just Dreamy.....Swoon Worthy even.The way he is so kind and caring towards the humans and toward Rose.Made you just melt at his every word.Rose is only 20 but still living with her parents and going to collage.Her dad is over protective and I couldn't help but feel sorry for Rose.But Rose was still close to dad,something I respected.Her mother is a real sweetheart and her closeness her mother is something to admire. Her love for Christian was ....Love at first sight.She felt a connection to him,like were married in a past life.It was the same for him too.They were the perfect match.Their relationship was one that just made you feel good inside! If you haven't read this book yet,SHAME ON YOU!! It is worth the time to set down and just get lost in the story!!

One of the best first dates ever!
I love this novella which follows book one, Scent of a White Rose by Tish Thawer. After being introduced to several characters in book one, you get to read about the relationship between heroine Rose and her mother. If you have read book one, you know what happened to Rose's mother so this peek into their former relationship is so bittersweet. The reader also gets to experience the first date between Rose and Christian which evolves into the beginning of their romance. This novella definitely answers some questions the reader might have had after reading book one; just started book two, Blood of a Red Rose. Another excellent story by Tish Thawer!

Look beyond the rating!!
This is just a taste of what the trilogy is about and as such it works. There is enough here to want to read more but everything happens too quickly with out any real development of character and plot and it is very short so I could not rate it higher. I am not sure sometimes why authors feel they need to write these types of books or novellas especially if they are going to charge as much as a book. However I certainly will read the trilogy as I want to see what happens to Rose.

Hooked!!!!!!!
OMG, it's that good. I know, cause I didn't want it end. Even though it was shorter then the first book Scent of a White Rose, I truly enjoyed it. I love the characters Christian and Rose. Next on my list Blood of a Red Rose. Tish Thawer has me hooked. What a talented author....

The war between vampires and demons is heating up
Blood of a Red Rose takes place about 4 months after Scent of a White Rose. And again we see the story through multiple first person narratives. I've not read many authors that use this style of writing but it works when it's written well and Tish does a great job at keeping each characters' voice separate. Also the use of the multiple narratives gives the story a more "rounder" feel to it.We join Rose after the events that took place SWR where she and Christian are in hiding after Rose killed someone in self defense. Rose has not seen or spoke to her father or friends in 4 months. Everyone is worried sick about her not knowing where she is and how she is doing.Rose is keeping secrets from everyone in her life from her father about not telling him where she is to Christian and not telling him what she is. She is caught between a rock and hard place; wanting to have the happily ever after with the man she loves and knowing that they can never have it.Christian feels Rose is unhappy and pulling away. He is desperate to get them back to their happy place but he doesn't know what to do, until he gets some help from an unlikely source.Then there is Jeremy, Rose's father. He is living in his own world of secrets and heart ache. He misses Rose and feels a little guilty at having found happiness with his girlfriend so soon after his wife's death. But Jeremy soon finds out that not all is what it seems in his life.Tish Thawer does another great job at putting a twist on the vampire story and builds on a great debut series. The war between vampires and demons is heating up and I can't wait to read the last book in the trilogy after the cliffhanger that Thawer leaves us with. Luckily I only have to wait to September to get the next installment, Death of a Black Rose.

Roses & Thorns is the perfect follow up to the first book in the Rose Trilogy!
Roses & Thorns is the perfect follow up to the first book in the Rose Trilogy, Scent of a White Rose. In this short but heart-warming novella we get a deeper look into Rose and Christian's romance and how it all began. I love that we get both characters' perspectives on their developing romance and how each interacts within their family circles.While Rose and Christian's love story touches your heart, the special bond between Rose and her mother Loraine is exceptionally touching. Tish really captures the love and devotion these two share and really tugs at your heart strings with her vivid writing style. Roses & Thorns moves at a quick pace but makes up for it with plenty of details that tie right into the original giving the reader a deeper look into the Rose and Christian's bewitching romance!If you're a romantic at heart you'll love this forbidden vampire romance filled with emotion and enchanting characters. Roses & Thorns is a companion to the first book in the series but is so well written it doubles as a prequel (definitely can be read as a stand alone). One thing's for sure, once you step into Tish's captivating world there's no going back!{I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.}
