Finally!! I am on my 3rd bottle before qriting a review and this is definitely the BEST dry shampoo for darker roots! The tip allows the powder to get to the scalp and roots without getting all over the strands. It does have a very mild scent but nothing bad or lingering. No tacky texture like sprays leave. I can feel exactly where is it going without having to guess and have powder dropping all over.

Smells really good and not as drying as other products, but it left a white/gray cast on my black brown hair. The color of the powder is pure white so I assumed that would likely happen and it did. I felt I had to use a lot of product to actually wick away the oils well.Overall, likely an okay product for lighter hair colors but if you're a brunette just skip this one.

*Review notes:Review is based on regular use for approximately 1 month. I have very thick, dark, dark hair (basically black). Prior to this I was using dry shampoo sprays.I bought this dry shampoo powder to find a more cost effective and less wasteful alternative to regular aerosol dry shampoos.Pros: I like the fact that it's organic and made with ingredients like cornstarch and arrowroot powder (vs. the regular chemicals you see in dry shampoo sprays), and therefore, I haven't had any allergies, itching, or any negative reactions. There is practically no scent, in my opinion. The powder feels light, i.e. doesn't feel physically heavy as if there's this giant pile of powder on my head. After proper use, I don't feel it, unless I'm actually scratching my scalp and a little of it comes off onto my fingernails. Not really a problem though. Based on all of the dry shampoos I've ever tried, I can honestly say this one is the ONLY one that DOES NOT leave white residue in my hair! Thank goodness for that. The powder is an offwhite color, so I was skeptical during my first try, but the powder actually dissipated after tousling and brushing. Also, I got this bottle for about $13. I typically spend $4-5 per can of dry shampoo spray, needing 2 cans a month. I've used the powder for a month now, and the bottle is still basically full. I'm easily going to save $50 at least in the long run of using this product.As far as effectiveness for me, it works up until about day 3 hair. At that point, my hair is too oily and I'd have to use double the powder for it to look decent. I exercise daily and sweat a lot, so having a lasting, effective dry shampoo is really important. With dry shampoo sprays, I can usually last until day 5. I don't get the "clean feel" that I get with the sprays, but I think the benefits outweigh everything else, so I find this to be a small compromise.Tip on use: don't open the tip of the applicator all the way. I like to open it about half way, and gently press and shake the body of the bottle so that you can better control the amount of product that gets released. This equates to the produce being spread more evenly and therefore a better result.

On my second bottle, it is a little messier than a spray however I feel like I get more days between washes.

This works great if you know HOW to apply it. It says it's for dark hair, but still looks very light in your hair. So, here is the thing, you CANNOT follow the directions or you will just dump a bunch in a random spot on your head, which will be hard to blend in. You have to part your hair where you want to apply, put some of this in your hands, then rub on your part. Continue to do this throughout your hair, in the areas needed (I don't always do the back underside of my head). If you use just the right amount in your hands and rub it in enough, it will blend and you won't see the "lightness" of it (I have brown/black hair fyi). The scent was fine....I didn't find it offensive or super pleasant, just neutral. Using this, I am able to stretch out my hair washings to once a week. I know some people find that gross lol. If I have a date or something more intimate, I will 100% wash my hair more!The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is because of the cost. It's not terrible, but for powder that can apparently do the same thing as baby powder, I'm wondering if it is really worth it. I do admit, this bottle lasts a long time, which is great. I plan to try baby powder next to see if I can get the same result, once this runs out. If I don't get the same result, I will def come back to buy this!

Works great and far better than the sprays. Until you get the hang of it, it can be a little messier but after the 3rd time no problem. Best to part the hair and sprinkle in.After reading the ingredients of the spray I was using I went looking for an alternative. I like that it is tinted vs white. It also doesn't get stuck on your scalp like the spray and smells much better. I was nervous about breathing in all the butane and propane. Yup read the labels of your spray. It will shock you.Overall I love the freedom from washing and styling. I can go 3 to 4 days. Saves me about 2 hours each week. Yeah more sleep.

Love it. Don't have to spend tons of time trying to remove the powder cast from my dark brown hair(works perfectly with my hair color). The best part is it works fast, I dont have to spend a lot if time rubbing it in AND all the ingredients are natural and safe😍. Best for days when I am late for my classes and don't have the time to take a full head to toe shower. It does it's job quick and perfectly.

I really like beauty by earth and wanted to give this a try. Honestly at first I didn’t like this product at all. It left tons of white residue on my hair and didn’t really absorb the greasy parts. I tried brushing it out, using my fingers to at least try to disperse the white residue. I was honestly going to give up and tried a make up brush (as per directions) to disperse and minimize the white powder and I found that this did the trick. This method also helped with adding volume to my hair and absorbing the grease. Now I absolutely love this product. When I run my hands through my hair there is no cakiness or stiffness like other spray ones I have used. I gave it 4 stars simply because it says its for dark hair and it isn’t.

It works amazing and there is no weird texture after you out it, its seamless and there is no residue! Your hair is left still very soft, suple and movable unlike other spray dry shampoos. Plus this one is all natural and doesn't clog your pores like the other commercial brands. It also doesn't make my scalp itch as opposed to other brands. One bottle Lasts a LOOOT longer too!!!!

I wanted to like this but it just didn’t work for me. I have tried a dozen different dry shampoos and most of them aren’t great. This didn’t really do what it should, my hair was still limp and oily after using this and getting it through my hair without leaving powdery spots was nearly impossible. I am trying to wash my hair less frequently so it’s not as oily, I want the natural oils to settle down, but I need a dry shampoo on the third day because my hair is oily by then. So that’s what I used this for but I soon gave up and reverted back to the foam I have as it works better.
