Tom Green - Subway Monkey Hour Review
It's a good DVD, some bits of it got a bit boring but overall a funny DVD.It came in good packaging and the case of the DVD was good, but the CD itself was a bit dirty and a few scratches too, but it runs fine on the DVD player.

Mad!
I love Tom Green and the way he can just act like a madman infront of complete strangers. The bit on the subway train is hilarious, though some people might find him a bit disrespectful I suppose!

It is Big and it is Clever
You either like Tom Green or you don't its as simple as that. So if you have seen any of his other 'work' and liked it you'll enjoy this and if you have seen any of this other 'work' and didn't like it you probably won't like this. If you don't know either way just ask yourself this question : Do you find the idea of a grown man putting certain rather adult objects, that i shall not mention, into sushi resteraunt buffets and generally running around making a fool of himself funny? If yes read on if no good bye. This really is classic Green but with a twist. This time he's in Japan. The show is presented like a documented but broken up with Tom Green sketches. Most of the documentary style thrillers are also pretty funny with my favourite being, and i quote, " secretely all Japanese people wish they were Americans". The sketches themself are also hilarious. They range from the disgusting to the quite clever but are all incredibly funny. Its hard to describe a lot of the sketches and still make them sound as funny as they really are but some of the best sketches , in no particular order, include: running round Ancient temples laughing at Businessmen who fall over, be attacked by angry sushi chefs, taking a lie down on the platform of Japans busiest subway, going round a miniature France dressed as Godzilla, promoting the use of forks in Japan, dressing up like Elvis, trapping wild Monkeys in vans, slurping noodles and really just trying to annoy the people of Japan. As i said earlier these sketches are good but there are some problems. Namely longetivity. The show itself is only around 50 minutes long and tends to get less and less funny the more you watch it. This is probably because a lot of the sketches rely quite heavily on shock and you not knowing what crazy thing Tom's going to do next. Another problem i think is the age rating (18). The problem with this is Green's humour is really quite immature and will appeal much more to younger generations , under 18's, compared to older more mature people who will find it rather silly. There are some exceptions to this rule as i'm not exactly a child but still think its brilliant, it really does depend on the person. So all in all this dvd is a good laugh and great for a rainy day or when your feeling silly but it's style won't suit everyone and some people may be in for a shock. On another note though this DVD/show is much better than Tom Green's Best Of DVD so any Tom Green fans out there, and i know there's a few of you, get this instead or certainly aswell if you already have the other DVD.
