This book should've had a trigger warning! I love the Cade Creek series but imo this book was hard to read and I could hardly finish it. It was a good read until about 45% in and then Lex's stalker enters the picture. The beating scene was bad enough but what happened in the hospital, made my stomach turn. Then you think all will be well and then you are thrown off balance again. I read the preview but it only touches on the stalker issue and no way prepared the reader for the constant turmoil. I'm all for angst but this was over the top. I hope the next in the series is better and less violent but no sure I'll read any others. So disappointing.

Rating: 4 starsI’m not sure why I enjoy this series so much, but I do. It has to be one of the most unrealistic series that I’ve read, and this book isn’t any different. Still, I did enjoy it and look forward to reading more in the series.
