Good concept but inconsistent photo quality, needs editing
Some of the images (like the cover) in this book are very nice and they look professional, but many are not. With the availability of high quality stock photos that could more clearly demonstrate many of the concepts, it makes you wonder why they used amateur photos that are off center and/or blurry. There are large, bolded, stylized letters on each page that are so stylized that they are unrecognizable to a young child. Oddly, for the letter "W" they gave the names "Wilmer" and "Wlfred" explaining that very few Spanish words start with W. It could be that the author/editor know a person who spells their name "Wlfred" instead of "Wilfred" - but in an educational book why would you risk the inclusion of a perceived typo in a common name? This book could have been a gem if it had received more editing. I really wanted to like it but I was disappointed by the photography and design choices. This is the first edition, perhaps the second edition will receive tighter editing.

A wonderful tribute to the Hispanic culture
I loved the photographs on each page! The children on each photo represent our Hispanic culture in the US very accurately. The layout is consistent with the first book in the series so I was not expecting a change. My 8yr old daughter did not have any trouble reading it or the letters. Each page discusses a Hispanic custom/tradition. Many of these are the ones that may get forgotten so this is a wonderful way to introduce and expose our kids to some of the traditions that may have been lost through the years. This book is a gem for our children to keep learning about their culture.
