Let me start off with saying.....everything about this mat is perfect and I wish I could give it 6 stars :). I bought a pink mat for $18.91. The color is amazing. The size of the mat is perfect(length,width, and thickness). I bought a danskin now yoga kit and the mat inside doesn't even compare to this. It's an amazing mat for a great price. I broke my knee once and this mat is very gentle on my knees. I tried using on carpet recently and it slid around some, but i think you need a special type of mat on carpet. The only thing i wish is that it wouldn't slide on carpet. Other than that, this mat is EXACTLY what I hoped for and exceeded my expectations. I am more than pleased with my purchase. If you are looking for a yoga mat, you would have to be crazy not to buy this one.

I received my mat quickly. I did not notice a smell from the mat as another review mentioned. I did wash the mat in cool soapy water and let it hang dry as suggested by other reviews. Before my first use I noticed there was a small hole in the mat near the end of the mat that was the external edge of the rolled mat.When deciding which mat to purchase i had considered a much thicker mat (1/2 inch thick) but decided to get this standard thickness mat, and it worked just fine. Glad i decided on this mat as it is less bulky.

This yoga mat is soft and thick which is nice when you are sitting, on your knees, or standing, but inversions and even simple downward facing dogs, are difficult on this mat. My hands slide like crazy on it. I made the mistake of taking it to my Moksha Yoga class (a form of hot yoga) and thought I was going to die during downward dog because my hands kept slipping. This mat no longer comes to class with me, but instead I use it at home for 10-15 min. yoga sessions.

Thoughts:- I like the length (I'm 6' tall) but wish it was just a little wider- It was slippery at first even after washing it prior to my first real use- I get a slight tear (doesn't affect usage) my 1st week of using it but I'm not sure what caused it so I don't know if it's something I did or poor durability- Plastic smell isn't that bad and seems to dissipate more each time I use it

This yoga mat, purchased as a gift, is nice heavy textured material that readily layed flat. The 'dark green' color I ordered is actually teal, not dark green. Therefore, while the teal is a nice shade (and we kept it), it is not dark and it is certainly not green; and the inaccuracy of the color description warranted a reduction in stars. Should they change the official description to teal, this product gets 5 stars.Shipping was about $10, which seemed pricey, but the quality of the mat made it worth the $30 total.

The shipping on this is quick. The mat is very thick and plenty long. However, I ordered a dark green mat (in the picture it was a very deep dark green) and the one I got was more of a spring green. It's just a color so I'm not going to mess with returning it (since there's nothing wrong with the mat itself) but just be aware that the color you're ordering might not look at all like the color mat you get.

i just noticed that the price of this mat has gone up since i purchased it (i paid $15.26 for it - woohoo!), so now i feel like i should love it even more. i wasn't sure if it would be thick enough since i have issues with my knee, but it's very comfortable and conforms to my hands and feet when i plant them down. i didn't have any issues with a chemical smell, but my hands and feet did slip a little bit (i've only used it once so far, but it wasn't a major issue and not during any standing poses - i was using a regular exercise mat before so there already so much less slippage!). the size of the mat is great - definitely plenty of room to move during class. for what i paid for it, i'm very happy with my purchase - it's comfortable and the color is really cute.

I needed to replace my old mat with something more insulating and comfortable. This is a good mat for the money; the only reason I did not rate it higher is that it is coated with some kind of protective substance (I assume), and there are no instructions on how to remove it. I don't know if rubbing alcohol will hurt the surface of the mat.
