Project Mc2 Super Spy Kit

I did buy this for my 8 yr old son as a Christmas present. He is uber picky about pink and girly things, so he did notice the somewhat feminine appearance of the kit. However, we were able to distract him from it easily. It was the only kit that had so much to offer. He has really enjoyed learning how to create secret codes and the glasses. We haven't had much luck with the fingerprinting or the black light and ink, but I have not just sat down and really paid attention to it with him either. Based on that, I may change my review later. But, for the most part, he is very pleased. I am glad I took my chances with a "girl" kit for our son.

This is THE main thing my daughter wanted for Christmas. It's a nice enough set. She really liked the glasses that let you see behind you. It's just a pair of glasses with a little mirror like piece stuck on the corner of the frame. Cheesy but she liked it. The finger print dusting is messy and, like most toys these days, I feel it was over priced for what it is. But, she had fun playing with it a couple of times. It didn't really hold her interest.

My cousin wanted this for Christmas. I almost couldn't find it and had to pay a premium. But it was worth it because she loved it. It isn't just a one trick pony it has lots of activities to do. Right out of the box she wore the spy sunglasses for an hour or more. You can use them to see what's behind you. And then she spent everyday of the next week doing the fingerprint part. It is a very creative kit for a 7-12 year old girl. And it doesn't seem as 'girly' as the other project mc2 kits.

I always worry when ordering on line that the product won't be what I wanted. I ordered this for my granddaughter for her 8th birthday. Some reviews said the finger print kit was a joke, but she and her cousins finger printed everyone and Everything in the house. If she never played with it anymore she more than got her money worth. She loved it, and isn't that what a gift is all about.

My daughter received this as a gift and couldn't wait to try it out. She's learned how to decipher and write in code, we did fingerprinting and she was actually able to lift some prints from around the house. The directions are easy to follow, it's fairly mess-free and I really like the extra information, history and tid-bits that come with it

My nieces (age 7 & 9) were more excited to wear the glasses. Not too keen on reading the manual on how to be a spy!

This was amazing for my nine year old daughter. There is a lot of reading involved. But it is keeps her busy.

Granddaughter enjoyed playing with this kit. I bought it with the ultimate spy bag. It kept her occupied for several hours.
