Soldier life in the Union and Confederate Armies (Civil War centennial series) Hardcover – January 1, 1961

Good read. This is my second purchase of "Solider Life ". I plan on circulating this among my veterans buddies. The details of a soldiers' life in a field camp between offensives reminded me of my own to Vietnam experiences of having to cope with times of stress, boredom, food rations and the changing environment .

I've read over 200 books on the subject of the Civil War. This ranks right up there with the best. It's a great read
