An appropriate dose at a desirable price
When I researched the scientific literature on lutein, I found compelling evidence that it is helpful for eye health, but I also saw that the researchers have tended to use doses around 10-20 mg in their experiments, whereas many supplements with lutein contain (according to the label) only 2-6 mg of the substance. I have no way of knowing what this product contains or how much of it, but my subjective experience has been that my eyes feel well. I had gotten to the point where there were areas of reduced color vision in my visual fields because of fatigue. Since I started taking this supplement, I have bot had this problem. Of course, it does not help with eye muscle strain, nor is it expected to do so. I like the Nature Bounty packaging both because the softgels contain a large-enough dose, as addressed above, and also because the price is generally acceptable, especially for the larger packs or multipacks. I would recommend this product for people who use their eyes a lot for work, especially if the hours are long.
