Includes a lot of information! Great for newbie's and Familiar people to pokemon
My Daughter loved this book,it arrived very quickly, and there are tons of colorful pictures and information in the book!it is a very good guidebook and I 100% recommend it for new people, and people who are pretty familiar with Pokemon. The information includes the Pokemon's egg moves, evolution's, attacks, and how to receive the Pokemon in both games! ( X & Y ) this book was really helpful, and I hope other people enjoy it too!

Compact and at hand!
Gotta say, I am on the same boat that the pokedex is sub-par. Yet! Considering that this book is mainly for X and Y, I am not likely to complain. The book covers the majority of very relevant pokemon on the competitive scene and has a wealth of knowledge past just what each Pokemon that one would encounter in Kalos. Was very surprised to find well built lists on EV training, alongside reverse ability and move learners with egg groups and even more information! A lot of knowledge that is only a website away, but for a book, there is a lot to be happy about. An incomplete pokedex would be a hindering notion for something calling itself a Pokedex, but I will still offer five stars for the variety of information and charts that I will still be going back too again and again. One day we will have a complete Pokedex book, but that will only be once they announce the final Pokemon game. Until then! Can't go wrong here.

Overload of Knowledge!
From the perspective of a 14 year old boy, I truly believe this book is amazing! It contains information of all the post-game events, including a full step-by-step of the Looker series, and more than enough information on mega evolution and all the stones. The poked is wonderful too. It is based off the 3 Kalos pokedexes (Central, Coastal, and Mountain), so do not expect a full national pokedex. (Contains a little over 450 pokemon). The poked information for the pokemon has also been increased, including specifying the differences between genders for some pokemon, and a full guide to the Vivillon forms, including a world map for where each form is.Overall, the guide is wonderful, and I fully recommend it to any pokemon fan.:)

was a little worst than i expected
The poster was missing, but i don't mind that, what really is annoying to me is the top and bottom of spine are tearing apart including a few pages in the beginning. A few pages are curling up on the edges and a portion of back cover was bent and creased.

Nice quality book
Bought this for a friend who became interested in the artwork of Pokemon. I found out that these are really hard books to find (these red cover ones) as the blue cover versions are much smaller books with less content. It has a bunch of Pokemon characters but that is not my thing so I can not comment on the accuracy of the details however the book is thick and filled with nice artwork and information.

Fantastic book! 10/10
If you have someone who loves pokemon and likes to learn about the different types. This book is perfect. Obviously it doesnt include all the pokemon but it had a great amount in there. This was a great buy for my POKEMON obsessed child. Love it!

Extended information of what is available in the book
The post adventure strategy guide is only as expansive as the content found in-game after beating it. As such, I'll just list a few things not mentioned in the description to help other potential customers decide if it's worth buying this guide. The poster included is approximately 30in by 37in, or 58cm by 94cmThe guide explains the functions of Battle MaisonThe guide lists all available Pokémon found in Friend SafariThe guide provides the areas where the roaming legendary birds can be found to force them into Sea Spirit's DenThe guide provides ranking information for the Battle InstituteThe guide provides extensive information for the Looker sidequest. The guide has outdated information on the breeding mechanics. (to be discussed below)The guide provides the locations of the megastonesThe guide explains how the Pokéradar worksThis strategy guide has the same layout as the previous guide, with an introduction of the new location with a checklist of items and Pokémon obtainable in said area, followed by points of interests worth checking out. Just like the guide before it, it has a list of the egg groups readily available, so there's no need to refer to the previous guide for the information. The guide also gives information on how Pokémon breeding works but it's a tad outdated. The information that is outdated is still correct, but it does not explain that the mechanics have been simplified, making it far easier to breed a Pokémon with the desired traits. The first half of the guide does its job in assisting the player find all the post-game content while providing tips where applicable. The second half of the guide, which is the Pokédex, is as informative as it can be. The Pokédex provides an in-depth look at the Pokémon's level-up moves, TM&HM moves, egg moves, and tutor moves. It also provides information on where to find the Pokémon, the facilities you can use them in, and the damage taken in both regular battles and inverse battles. Superfluous information includes their evolution line and front/side/rear views of the Pokémon. The Pokédex guide also provides extensive information on alternate forms, such as the multiple patterns of Vivillon. All in all, the guide provides the necessary information that you need in one handy location if you dislike browsing the internet for the information and does a great job with the Pokédex. However, it does have its downsides:The guide only has the Pokédex information for the three Kalos regions. So you won't find information on Pokémon not native to Kalos, like Rattata and Entei. The information to find items is not as extensive as guides found online. The Pokédex does not use numerical values for the base stats and still use the bar system from previous guides. It's paperback. In Generation V, only the males can pass down moves, and only the females can pass down the Hidden Ability. In Generation VI, both males and females can pass down moves and pass down the Hidden Ability. The female will pass down the Pokéball that it was caught in to its offspring. Example: a female Pancham caught it a Net Ball will always pass the Net Ball down to its offspring. Master Ball and Cherish Balls cannot be passed down.
