Easy to follow, I mainly used the one page patterns. It does take a little imagination and creativity for several patterns when folding. I used the origami created and those I refolded into other similar animals for A Seasonal Origami Potpurri Tree. I would only recommend this book for several creations easy to follow without much imagination or confusion. The tulip well, didn’t work out as illustrated. The birds are lovely, with the pelican alone the book regains indispensable value. The pelican easily mastered and well illustrated you can create other birds even a peacock and duck. The water bomb is quite easy to make and the lantern can also be refolded into a shirt or blouse or turtle neck. The dog can also be shaped into a reindeer or bull. You will get value from this Origami Book, the price is excellent. With animal origami also consider that a cat or dog looks like many animals so be creative and take your time enjoying the sport of Origami.

When I first opened the package and started looking through the book, I noticed that the front page was folded. This doesn’t seem to be an issue with the manufacturer itself, but more likely related to the packaging or shipping process. Aside from that, the paper quality is very nice. The images are clear and fairly descriptive for making origami. I appreciate that the book includes a contents page and an explanation of the symbols used, such as lines and arrows, and what they represent. This makes it much easier to understand the diagrams in each step. The book also includes written instructions in addition to the images, which is very helpful and adds extra clarity, especially for beginners. We have about 80 kids and about half of them are learning to do origami right now. These have been so helpful to them! They love the colors and how easy it is to fold. The paper seems to last a long time, and all the books are perfect for helping them to learn. I think that this was a great find, and a great price!

My origami skills are rusty, but it is something that I used to do. Then stuff happens, as stuff does, and here I am several years later wondering how to refresh my memory. The moment I decided I was too good for this book is the moment I knew I had to start here.The dog, the rabbit, the tulip and stem... none of this is new to me. Simple projects, for children. And yet it's a great introduction and a fantastic refresher, with uncluttered shaded line drawings that turned out to be much easier to follow than photos. The old folds that used to be so easy flew off the page and back into my brain. And when I started getting new, more advanced books and digging out my old books, I realized that sometimes I'd come across a way of doing things in the "grown-up" books that was executed more simply, more efficiently, and more elegantly in this book. I've been looking back to this book to find better ways of accomplishing something, and applying those ways to more advanced projects in other books.And when it's four in the morning and I can't sleep, I'm not worrying over kusudama or hexaflexagons, I'm grabbing this book and playing with the frog or the boat designs to see what else I can do with them (or how badly I can mess them up.)The instructions are arrows and dotted and dashed lines, and single words or short phrases. I wish commonly used origami terminology was used a bit more in this book, instead of learning how to do the folds and remembering (or finding out) what they're called later. But the information is available in so many places it's not a huge loss here.Get this book for the kids, but when they go to bed, steal some of their paper and start with this book. It's a clear and painless introduction.

Easy is in the hand of the crafter. For two 10 year olds and an adult who is not origami knowledgeable it was a huge fail! We did manage to make one of the patterns, but the rest was just wasted time and paper that looked nothing like the pictures. If you know basic foods and understand how they describe the folds you may have better luck!

Bought it for my 7 years old. The instructions are clear. Variety of models is big and exciting.It is a great book to start with. Got my own child to get involved, and even try some of the models on his own.The big plus is that some of the models are so easy, they can be done without any adult help.The only minus is that it does not come with papers, so had to be purchased separately.Recommend it as a present or just for a fun indoors activity with the children.

Very good book but a little bit to small, thought it was going to be a lot bigger and more pages. But it’s still good and easy to follow the instructions to the different figures

It seems little complex. My kids get bored and stopped using. I was thinking the effect would be opposite.

This is an excellent book for kids 8+ or adults to learn the basics of origami. Unlike other books we've tried, the diagrams are very easy to follow and include text when necessary to clarify what you are supposed to do. We haven't gotten frustrated or lost at all, and have been able to create a lot of great looking finished pieces.The book begins with very simple pieces that require no more than a few folds (cat and dog heads), and then progresses through somewhat complex (but still easy) pieces like boxes and a jumping frog.Do be sure to get yourself some quality origami paper to use along with this book. Paper that has one coloured and one uncoloured side will work best, as a few of the designs make use of this.
