FizikX5 Terra Mountain Bike Shoe - Adaptive Fit, Carbon Fiber, Microtex MTB Shoe

Bought these to replace my old worn out s-works mountain shoe. And after having a great shoe for so long, I was worried about the transition. Decided to pull the trigger on these due to the look, combo of features, and lower price compared to anything similar.After receiving them I am definitely impressed. The weight is only slightly more than my s-works, but the fit and feel is as good, or better, than those. The upper feels pliable but strong enough to protect my feel, and the color is really good. The layout and height of the tread make the shoe very stable on dirt/rocks/gravel, and not nearly as uncomfortable to walk in as other shoes I've tried. The toe box has some nice protection as well with a harder coating over the upper.The fit is also perfect, I wear a size 12.5-13 US, and ordered a 46.5. These were true to size and fit like a dream. they are tight in the heel box and sides, but have just enough room in the toes to not make you foot start hurting of feel like you can only wear the thinnest of socks.On the bike, these things feel even better. The boa easily gets the shoe nice and snug, and the faux-carbon shank feels just as sturdy as my previous shoes with full carbon.Haven't put in a ton of miles on them yet, but so far they are comfortable while pedaling.Overall, a great shoe for the price. I've already recommended to friends.

The listing for these is very confusing as far as sizing (at least it was when I purchased them). I looked at the size guide on FizIks website and kept adding them to my Amazon cart until my cart reflected the size I needed. I typically wear a women’s size 8 and these fit good. I have only used them on my indoor trainer and never for more than an hour so I can’t say how comfortable they would be on long rides, but so far, I have no complaints. Thee are my first pair of clipless shoes, but I’ve had no issues getting in and out of the peddles (again, only used indoors so far!). Green would not have been my first color choice for bike shoes, but I actually like them. I also haven’t walked around in them since I keep them next to my bike, but I did have to walk upstairs to get something once and had no issues. Wouldn’t want to walk a long distance, but for a quick hike a bike, they would be fine.

I’ve been doing this bike thing a long time, had my fair share of shoes over the years. Honestly most of them I still own and use. That last comment is a testament to the quality that’s generally inherent in a cycling shoe. I currently run a sidi ergo 3 road shoe that approx 10 years old, sidi dominator 6 that’s over 15 years, a 17 year old pair of Bontrager RXL road shoes etc. In 35 years and countless pairs of shoes I’ve never encountered a shoe that gave up the ghost this quickly. The inner toe area developed peaks that stick out of the shoe like stalactites, un-rideable at a little over a year. Fizik had decided that since they were not ordered directly off their website the don’t need to honor the 2 year warrant they advertise. Pretty clear that in they have decided the way forward is poor quality and customer service.

I really wanted to like these shoes. I'm an avid road and cyclocross rider and was looking for something new. I typically wear Specialized S-Works road shoes in a size 45 and Sidi Wire and Drako shoes in size 46 (I wear a size 11.5 in Nike and 12 in Asics running soes) and so I ordered a size 11.5 which showed up in my cart as a 42.5!? I tried it anyway and of course it was too small and was in fact a 42.5 despite being listed as an 11.5 on the dropdown for size selection. I ended up ordering a size 14! to get the right length but to be honest the shoes run a little wider than I expected. They're a really nice looking shoe, they're well made and the green color is different in a good way but the sizing on the site is all wrong! If you have a wider foot, then maybe these will work for you; I have a narrow foot, more of a Specialized or Sidi fit, so even after getting the legth right the width was still wrong. I was disappointed that they don't fit a narrow foot. I hope you have better luck.

I love Fiziks brand bike shoes. I have many pairs. I recently switched from road shoes to mountain biking shoes to prevent nerve damage in my feet from riding long distances. I found switching to mountain bikes shoes and getting a quality set of shoe inserts to cushion my feet really made the difference between pain and no pain. So, I bought these in a slightly larger size to allow enough room for thick inserts. The reason I buy Fiziks bike equipment is because it is high quality, superior design and its affordable. The main reason I buy Fiziks bike shoes is that they use a carbon sole that provides superior cushioning to the feet. Most shoes with carbon soles are pricey well over $400. When I switched to the mountain bike shoes, I wanted the carbon soles. These have those carbon sole feature that support my feet on long rides. This is my third pair, not because they wear out, but I want a pair for indoor riding separate for outdoor riding and a backup pair. These are high quality, well designed bike shoes for any type of riding. Don’t let the price fool you— they are the best shoe on the market and made in America.

I just received these after looking forward to getting them, only to be disappointed that they were in a size that was too small for me. “Weird,” I thought, “I guess I ordered the wrong size?” Checking my order history, it appeared that I had. However, when I went to buy a replacement, I made sure to carefully order the right US size, only to see that in my cart, a shoe with a (wrong) European size had been added. There is some really bad conversion going on for orders. A US 16 is NOT a Euro 47 - not even close! Be careful if you order.The shoes seemed nice for the price; I wish I could wear them!

First time cycling shoe buyer and I’m really happy with these. The quick lacing and rigid fit brought a new element to my riding.

A diferencia de algunos compradores, en mi caso enviaron la talla exacta, con ajuste perfecto como medias, y con sistema de correa BOA aún mejor el ajuste. Contrario a lo que imaginé, por su perfil angosto, es mucho más cómodo que los otros pares de marca Shimano y Tommaso que he tenido.Sobre su funcionalidad, la rigidez de la suela es excelente y la fuerza de pedaleo siente que se transfiere de manera bastante eficiente.Fuera del pedal, es un tanto resbaloso en superficies lisos (concreto o rocas) pero con buena tracción en tierra o gravas, espero que la tracción en pisos lisos mejore con el uso.El acabado es precioso, All Black, y con la perilla BOA hasta se ven como zapatos mucho más caros. Y el material sintético facilita la limpieza y quiero creer que durará buen tiempo así.Teniendo casi 2 semanas de uso, se siente resistente y que dará buena vida, de esto lo veré en un par de meses más.

Update, after riding in rain and getting the shoe wet the toe of the right shoe has developed a big hard bump or wrinkle in the leather that makes my big toe very sore. Trying to fix it by using a wood block wedged in the toe area while drying the shoe. This is a big design flaw. The left shoe has some small lumps in the leather. I hope this does not get worse.Sent 8 3/4 when ordered 10.5, So I returned. So I deciphered their sizing code and ordered the correct size using the cart size (not the one selected from the drop down menu). EG The listing indicates size 13 but when placed in cart changes to EU size 44.According to Fizik, size 44 is 10.75 US which is my size. I ordered, again, and they fit perfectly.After 3 rides the Fitik X5 are the most comfortable mtb shoe I have ever owned. Great power transfer.
