Stake Wireless Bluetooth Thermometer

DID NOT USE BECAUSE according to the included documentation, the overheat warning will happen when the measured temperature gets to 176° F (NOT the 300° F in the answers from the seller above). This is fine if you're grilling but won't work for smoking meats.Otherwise, it's a good looking product and I'm sure would work well if I hadn't just purchased a $1,700 smoker. It was either send the thermometer back or the Joe and this was easier to return.

Firstly, this is a great thermometer, I have used it quite often and things come out perfectly cooked.After the most recent update it requires the location services to be enabled on iphone/ipad, etc in order to use. I contacted the seller and they were very responsive and said that the app developer made this change.I stated I was very unhappy about this as I don’t want to enable location services to cook a steak, to me it’s a major invasion of privacy.So I’m very unhappy that I’m stuck with a very spendy paperweight now.

Unit was easy to connect to my android phone, used it with my weber kettle w/rotisserie to cook a whole chicken. Worked as advertised for the most part, the unit did disconnect quite a bit even though the phone was only 5 feet away from the grill. It would easily reconnect whenever I put my phone near the grill top. Unit gave acccurate temperature readings and gave a warning when the cook was approximately 9 degrees from target temperature. The unit gave the same readings as my insta-read digital thermometer when I checked to make sure meat was at target temperature. Two things bothered me the first being the constant loss of signal message, it appeared to occur when my phone screen would go black, and secondly the app is not user friendly at all, I have 6 records for this one cook because whenever I would restart/reconnect the device I had to start the cook again. I am fairly happy with this purchase and would recommend to a friend.

For anyone looking to get this don’t listen to the review that says this isn’t for grilling that’s literally all I use it for an it works great. I have a Napoleon grill and a rotisserie that really puts out heat and my probe has never had a “heat warning” I’ve cooked chicken and prime rib roast with it multiple times and only mistakes I’ve made were my own the probe worked like it was supposed to. I only wish it worked with Alexa so I didn’t have to carry my phone around.

This thermometer is pretty good for the price. Temp is a few degrees off another thermometer I used but doesn't ruin things. Using it for smoked meats so once I wrapped meat in foil it will not read, to be expected.

I have used the product a few times, overall works well, but disconnects when the grill lid closes. The product has quickly reconnected every time, and given accurate reads.
