I have to say we were skeptical . But we had just found a stray and he had no owners. He became Crash our newest family member. But we were going rounds on what kind of dog he was lol. We all had our opinions and the vet just said a mutt. We wanted to know more though. This was a great test. So easy to use . You swab your dogs mouth, thats it . And in 2-3 weeks max we know what types of dogs he is a mix of and some behaviors he may display( actually already was) and even some medical issues we should be aware of for his future. I could not ask for more. A vet would have charged a few hundred $$$$$$$) to do this i am sure if they even would. We found out our little man is a mix of husky, cattle dog border collie and shiba inu. And it totally fits don't you think? You can get more info for an added cost but this is what we needed. The test functions as made which you will be pleased about. Some say pricey but when you think about what they are actually doing, it is a value. DNA extraction and mapping is not a quick easy task . The test will not upset you furry baby either. Very simple and quick. They have the hardest part .you swab your pet , thats it. I would say it could not be more dog friendly. You will not be disappointed , we are not . Update July 2026 We found another stray ;Comet :) and he also got to take the swab dna test . It is very good that we did this . Comet’s test came back with a disorder where he is allergic to an ingredient in heart worm medication . It could have been dangerous for us not to know this . And since he was a stray we would not have . Right there it may have saved a life. How could you ever ask for more than that. We have been contacted by possible and definite relatives of Crash our dog as well . You can opt in or out of this option . It will give a percentage of relation the higher the number the “ closer” the relative and match. It is a wonderful service that allows us to hello the status we find even more . If they are not kept by us personally; they are trained and taught basic dog indoor routines and taken to local no kill shelters for adoption . After doing this for over 20 years , I have to say I really wish they started this years and years and years ago . We got this for our staffy rescue. We got him at (maybe?) a year old from the local animal shelter. The results were pretty quick and test was easy. Sure enough, results came back 65% staffy, 35% pitbull terrier and 2% boxer. It was cool to see his relatives (and we do get an email when new relatives are identified - although, there's no way to sort the results, so you don't know which ones are the "new" relatives). There's even a way to contact (anonymously) other relatives to share your dog pics, etc. I got in touch with two relatives and they provided pics of their dogs which were cousins to mine. It's kind of fun to see! That being said, it's not cheap. I bought it for about $60 on a special and now it's twice that. We do have another rescue that we'd love to get a kit for, but the cost of the kits now is a little prohibiting. I do like that they also provide optional behavior research studies you can do to tell them more about your pet -- like, does he burrow in blankets (absolutely!), does he dislike the rain (YEP!), etc. It helps them with research and building pet profiles (and what the dog breed is about, in general). Pretty in-depth. They did have a study you could join for additional rewards but the link didn't work for me. All in all, glad I got it - and glad I got it at the price that I paid! If you're interested in what your dog's DNA is all about, I'd recommend this. I also purchased the basic kit -- it provided plenty of information. I didn't have any of the add-on's that they offer.

God delivered a dog to my mother. It showed up on a cold rainy day, hiding under my car, while my 2 dogs were growling at something, I looked and seen it. It was skinny, dirty and looked close to death. I put my dogs in kennels and slowly got the dog out from under the car using water and food. I got it inside and it ran under my bed. The next day, my mom came over and the dog ran out to her, and has never left. She was curious to what type of dog he is, so I bought the dog DNA kit. It was easy to use, easy instructions and the results were quick. It even gave the dogs age, the type and so much more information. We guessed close, haha. It’s a great product at a great price and would highly recommend to anyone looking to do a doggie DNA test.

Easy to use with clear instructions, didn’t take long for the results. However, I do not think the results are accurate at all. My dog is a rescue, and we know for a fact that she was born to a Dashound mom at a shelter, she was the only one in the litter born white and that did not look like the other littermates (weiner dogs). Her DNA came back with zero Dashound DNA??? she is also quite clearly a corgi mix, I will be doing the blood work via the vet to check her actual DNA as this seems like a waste of money.

I lost my five to old age. Despite developing health issues I was able to bring them their full life expectancy of their breed. I did not intend to buy anymore as I still had one 16 year old cat left. Never say never. I intended to only foster old pets no one wanted so they could be loved until they passed, plus I was hoping my love would not cause separation anxiety in an older fur baby. That was until my granddaughter needed/wanted me to foster a stray from her neighborhood. Buddy came to me flea & tick ridden with mats all over his body in every conceivable area. First foster, first foster fail. Vet estimated 6 months old. Not neutered. First came the flea bath, the groomers, then after getting chip info and current owner refusal to pick him up, (I was hesitant to return him due to the condition he came to me in), I was actually relieved they didn’t pick him up. Next to have him neutered. That left “who” he was and why he kept eating everything he could get his teeth on whether it was food or not. It can’t give you the exact age, but the Wisdm Panel can you just about all the knowledge you need to get the right treatment and to prepare yourself for future life expectancy of health issues. This is a good company with a detailed report that more than covers the costs and gives you reliable information about your fur baby. She has the build of several breeds, and the personality of several others, so I just had to try to find out what she is. Wisdom Panel was simple to use, and they kept me updated after they got the sample. In less than two weeks I had the results. My dog turned out to be multiple breeds and ticks the boxes for every one of them! It’s expensive, but it was worth every penny!
