I changed my nutrition and started taking 5-HTP in the morning on an empty stomach. I couldn't 100% tell if it was working but I noticed weaning off my antidepressant was easier. How I know that this 5-HTP works is one day when I was feeling particularly down I took 3 or 4 of them at once. I felt pretty good and a little giddy the rest of the day. That proved to me that they must be crossing my blood brain barrier for it to have a real effect on me with high dosage. Now I am completely off my antidepressant. I still get a few "zaps" in my brain and body from withdrawal (been off for 2 weeks). All I do now is take 5-HTP and DLPA in the morning and eat healthier. This product seems like a good dosage for me and a good price. Would highly recommend trying it and seeing if it works for you.

If you find yourself tenser than usual or having trouble getting to sleep without being hung over the next day 5 htp will do the trick. They are non addictive. Since they are the 200 mg capsules instead of the 100 mg and you are not use to them you do not have to take more than one or 2. They also work as a great appetite suppressant. No matter how long you decide to take them do not take more than 3 capsules at a time. It can make you a stomach a little queezy. Generally 1 or 2 is all you need: even for the 100 mg capsule does. For those that haven't been eating right or getting enough protein in our diets regardless of form 5 htp will help make up the difference. It is also a good mood stabilizer. I have tried many brands and have found that the NOW brand is one of the best on the market. vegetarian, gluten and soy free. IF your hesitant to spend the money on the 200 mg go with the 100 mg to start out. You don't necessary have to take these on a daily basis. Listen to you body and you will do fine. Hope my advice help you. P.S. when taken this as a night time supplement you will have the most pleasant color relaxing dreams. Its better than an prescription drug out on the market and is 100% percent safe.
