This book contains short versions of some of the most incredible exploits in history. Each separate exploit can be read in about 15-20 minutes, making it suitable for short bursts of reading.

I have spent several very enjoyable evenings vicariously adventuring with this book. In manageable and well constructed short chapters, this accessible and lively book is full of interesting maps and pictures. As well as the well known voyages which one would expect to be included there are some totally new to me adding extra colour and interest. I particularly liked the story of Terry Fox running across Canada. The lack of obvious chronology takes the reader on an ever varied journey round the world from the depths of the ocean to the farthest corners of space and adds to the sense of adventure. An interesting and inspiring read!

Fantastic book! A real joy to read - images are brilliant and the stories fascinating! The story about Terry Fox was an inspiring read - learning so much about unsung heroes of the world. This for me is a super coffee table book - I love the fact that I can pick it up when I get a few spare minutes and read when having a quitet moment with a cuppa. Would thoroughly recommend this book to everyone.
