Suitcase runs as new once new wheels in place

I had a Longchamp trolley cabin bag and the wheels split making it unusable. As the bag was quite expensive I was loathed to throw it away.After figuring how to dismantle the old wheels (thank you YouTube!), I decided to buy these as replacements.Fitting the replacement wheels was straight forward, apart from having to drill out the holes for the axles, but that was an easy job.I now have a fully functional trolley bag again, the new wheels are quite and smooth when in operation.Will be buying another set (different size) for another bag, as this one has a flat spots on the wheels and when you drag it across the airport terminal concourse, it sound like a train running on old railway tracks.

Successfully replaced the wheels on a fairly old Samsonite CNU UPR (65/24mm wheel originally). It has what you might call bar-type wheel casings. See the photos. Opted for the 64*24mm replacement wheel.The process was slightly fiddly. Bit of DIY nous required.Used a little hacksaw to cut through the original Samsonite wheel axel from the outside. This is what the instructions recommend. The axels on mine were fixed with a rivet. Not worth trying to prise off as I damaged the plastic casing a bit. Go straight at it with a saw.Removed both wheel casing units by unscrewing from the inside. Realised the 8mm diameter axels provided were probably 2mm larger than the original Samsonite ones. Made the axel holes in the plastic casings a little wider using an 8mm drill bit.Fed the axels through casings and wheels. Opted for the longer of the two provided. Used the Alan keys provided to tighten up and reinstalled the units. Job doneThere’s a bit of sideways play as the wheels spin in their housing but nothing a few washers couldn’t fix if it became problematic. my original samsonite case wheels disintegrated while walking through the airport lounge which was annoying. However after researching these I bought and fitted them without incident. I used the original securing method although there were other screws provided should the original hardware fail. The difference is remarkable as these replacements are made for the job, like in-line skate wheels., and not the cheapest they could find to do the job. Virtually silent in operation I cannot wait for my next trip abroad to try out my cheap fix. To be fair I have had the case for nearly 20 years and it still is like new.

They are very good replacement wheels for Fatmax tool bag. Originally wheels are rubbish and my one are broken after couple uses. I buyed another new tool bag and they last 2-3 weeks. So I have a two wheeled tool bags which I can't use, because of wheels. Then I decided to buy one pair of these wheels and I changed the broken ones on one bag with these. The result is perfect. Just I drill a 8mm holes for new axles, because the originally are 6mm. And I use a short 35mm long axles. Now I'm very happy, because I use my tool bag more than a month without any problems. Yesterday I buyed another pair for the second bag.

Ottime ruote su cuscinetti. Mi hanno consentito di riparare lo zaino di scuola di mia figlia risparmiando un bel po' di soldi.Bisogna prestare molta attenzione ad ordinare la giusta misura perché le ruote non sono tutte uguali.

Die Rollen passen wunderbar für meinen Victorinox „Mobilizer NXT 5.0 20“ 2-Rollen Kabinentrolley 51 cm, den ich hier 2011 gekauft hatte (https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B003Z63Y54/). Der Koffer ist noch in gutem Zustand, die Rollen waren es nicht mehr - da lag Ersatz statt Müllerzeugung nahe. Der Victorinox Ersatzrollenservice hatte keine Ersatzteile mehr - aber diese 80mm Rollen mit 8mm Innenloch passen prima und rollen deutlich leiser als die originale. Allerdings - wenn man die Achsbolzen über Gebühr stark anzieht, klemmen die Rollen fest. Daher also nur normal angezogen und mit Locktite Blau gesichert. Nun läuft der Koffer wieder so leise hinter mir her, daß ich mich ab und an umgucken muß, ob er noch da ist :) Ich hoffe, daß die Lager nun auch lange halten.
