TRX Suspension Training Pro Pack

I saw this being used on an Armed Forces news show. It seemed simple enough to use and small enough to store and pack anywhere. How right I was! The TRX attaches to just about anything and your bodyweight provides the resistance you'll need for a wide variety of strength training exercises. If at any point it feels to easy, simply change your leverage to make it more difficult. I use this on my non-running days to build strength in my arms, chest, abs, and back. There are a wide variety of exercises included on the DVD and literature in the box. If that's not enough, there are fitness card decks, multiple websites, and youtube videos dedicated to showing you new ways to use this equipment. Since it packs up to about the size of a baseball glove and ball(including the optional door anchor), I have no issues taking it with me overseas, to the park, or even just to a friend's house. Like any fitness equipment, it works best with a healthy diet and regular use. But if you don't like going to gyms, or don't have the time to travel there and work out, TRX offers the benefits without the travel time or sharing of equipment.

I did TRX classes at my gym for a few months until they were cancelled. So I knew a lot of exercises and how to use the system before buying it - I don't know that I would have gotten as much if I didn't have that experience. It is very easy to use, and easy to travel with (primary reason I purchased it). I've been able to find lots of exercises and work-outs online too. I only use it at a gym where there are suitable anchors so I can't comment on whether it works at home. I can't imagine it working well on a door-frame. You'd probably have to install a ceiling mount into a heavy beam and I'm just not interested in pursuing that :)

Great product. Got it for core work, as I typically do most of my resistance training at the gym. I was really surprised at how effectiveit is at getting most of your muscular to fire while using it. Because of this, anything you do with this thing is going to be a pretty good workout. If used regularly, pretty sure it will result in a pretty tough, functional musculature. I think that there are probably a lot of these sitting around unused because of the relatively high intensity of the workout that it can hand out; it really is a whole pile of unpleasantness, even for someone who is used to lifting weights regularly. That said, it is a great tool that you do a ton of stuff with. Bought one for my buddy to use for dynamic stretching.

This product lets you use your own bodyweight to workout. The concept of this piece of equipment is great, but for $200, I wouldn't buy again. A more realistic price would be $100, max. Until they lower the price a bit, I'd wait.

This is a great product. Amazing workout. It is different than using weights or the weight machines. You use your body weight. Great core and balance as well as cardio workout. Seeing results in a short time. It is portable and can take any where. Would highly recommend this product.

Was just informed after I tried to resell my TRX that the TRX that I bought directly from Amazon is a fake. I honestly thought it was good, I just didn't have a large enough space to use it so thought I would sell it to someone who would use it more. Now I find out after having it over a year that it is a fake. (Update August 2013): It appears that the TRX that I had bought through Amazon (not the marketplace but from Amazon directly) is now considered an out-dated model. Beware, TRX will turn anyone in who tries to sell an older model as being a counterfeit. You then have to send them receipts to get their approval to resell your legitimately purchased product. Meanwhile, you now have a black mark on your record for trying to sell a counterfeit item with the site you were selling it on.

This was the older version with hard to adjust buckles and inferior handles. Someone is trying to get rid of discontinued models. This suspension system is not very good quality.

A personal trainer turned me on to the TRX as a very versatile total fitness package. I was skeptical at first, have been in a cardio boot camp and strength training with good results. Went from 180 to 165 in 9-10 months. Started using the TRX in place of some of the free weights and for core training with excellent results. In the last 2 months I dropped my weight to under 150 and am strong as a moose. (I also cut all the junk food and unhealthy snacks at the same time as adding the TRX workouts) There is a learning curve to using it for results, getting the bands the correct length, getting the feel for correct form, proper hand/feet placement. My wife uses it also and her core strength is better than ever. She is always finding new TRX challenges on the web.
