Refresh the machine
I hate to admit it, but it has been at least 3 years since we purchased our washer, and we just got around to using this product in it. With that said, we used this in our top loading machine recently. The product performed very well. The product removed the sour smell from the machine which came from the work clothing we used as we built our house and performed yard maintenance. I also had some pretty smelly shirts from working on the tractor and other machinery that contributed to the condition of the washer. This product cleaned the tub and water pump with ease. As I said before, the machine had a foul odor before dropping this into the EMPTY machine and using the CLEAN MACHINE setting. When the cycle was done, the odor was gone. We will be using this from now on. I recommend this for any machine that seems to frequently have an odor problem.

Seems like it worked
I read all of the reviews and watched a few videos regarding this product. My main take aways were that this product got rid of the pungent odors and drum residue (which people cant see) in regards to the positives. The negative reviews stated a strong scent, residue in the drum, and didn't work at all.I have a Frigidaire Affinity HE Front Load Washer purchased in 2009, used liquid detergent for first 3 years then Tide pods for the the past 7+.My washer did NOT exhibit any of the really bad odors people have reported about their own. I don't use my washer every day, maybe 5 times a week at most. Three being a load of clothing and two being hot washes with towels. Usual routine is one of each per day with a clothing wash on the side. I leave my door open when not in use and try transfer the wash ASAP after the cycle ends. I just wanted to try this since I use the Tide Front Washer packets prior with no issues with residue or irritation. Mainly bought this due to the removing scum and residue from the drum that we can't see. I like finding and trying different alternatives.I opened the single usage tablet and placed it into the drum as directed. Be careful to open the individual package slowly as the loose powder will go airborne if opened quickly. I'd recommend using a scissor to cut open the packet INSIDE of the drum to prevent the loose particles from falling onto the floor or inhaled. I do not have a "clean cycle" on my washer so I just ran a full hot load wash. After it finished, i looked in the drum and saw a slight film of residue on the gasket and all over the drum. It was easily wiped off with a few paper towels. There was still a little residue left so I took 2 large bath towels and ran a hot wash again, using the towels to try and get rid of the remaining residue. After that was completed, I looked inside again and saw almost no residue, just a slight bit on the back end of the drum (which faces you). I'm a paranoid individual when it comes to my family's health so when I do see them, I'd hate for them to experience any of the rash or irritation that was reported in other reviews. I decided to run a casual cold wash to just put water in the drum and get rid of the remaining (if any) residue. I just washed an old shirt on warm water with 2 dish towels that I just used to dry my hands for the past 2 days, no dishes or food contact. I'll wear the shirt and see if any irritation arises. IF IT DOES, I'll update and state what happened. If not, then its good! Prior to running each cycle after the first, I literally stuck my head into the washer and tried to smell any scent or odors. I did not smell anything, I asked my child who I think has a pretty good nose, and said there was no smell or scent. Maybe it has to do with water quality, the amount of washes after initial tablet use, or wash cycle time. I personally did not remove my drum or washer housing to inspect it, so I can not comment on how clean or the amount of drum residue was removed.Works as describes, even though my washer did not have a bad odor and I physically can't see the underside of my washer drum. Will continue to use the rest of the package (6 total tablets) and reduce the number or cycles after initial run until I get to just the initial wash in hopes of no rash or skin irritation.Another key bit of info regarding the mold in the rubber gasket. I read a few articles stating that it removed or helped with mold issues. As far as I can tell it DOES NOT and no where do they state on their product information that it does anything with mold. This would be another product or project to combat and prevent mold from building up.

This is not a gimmick. It WORKS!
I have a set of Whirlpool Duet frontload washer/dryer that are 16 yrs old and going strong. Don't judge me, but for 15 years, I never washed it other than running the wash cycle maybe 3x and only once did I add the bleach (per manufacturer's instruction). The putrid, old, musty, gamey, mold smell only went away for a short time then would come back several weeks later. I thought the only recourse i had was to let the washer air dry with the door open and deal with it.I saw these washer tabs on Tik Tok and realized, hey man, these exist? Where have I been all this time?? Excited to try them on my funky smelling washer, I was now faced with the task of choosiing which brand to buy.I chose the Affresh because it seemed most economical but also highly rated. It arrived last night and I popped one in the washer and ran it on the wash cycle (per Affresh instructions). Note: I had a bit of anxiety doing this as it clearly states on the dial "Clean Cycle - Bleach ONLY." So I broke the Whirlpool rules and defied the instructions, but I guess I will ask for forgiveness later if necessary. The cycle finished and a few moments ago and in order to truly test the effectiveness of this product, I opened the door, stuck my head inside and took a HUGE WHIFF.People, my washer smells CLEAN. No, not pine smell clean. Not strong perfumey clean. Just FRESH & CLEAN! I describe the smell as that same smell of the suds when you go through a car wash (almost fruity?) How? What exactly did this do? Inside of the drum, I found there were 2 things left behind: a coffee bean and a small quarter-sized clump of hair. THAT'S ALL. I braced myself and looked inside the rubber door liner, thinking there will be a disgusting sludge of slime and gunk for me to wipe up. While there was some dirty spots as residual, it was almost nothing. I took a paper towel and ran it along the inside of the door seal and picked up just a small smearing of residual black stuff. Don't ask me where the rest of it went, but at this point, I don't care. I'm trusting the process because everything else smells and looks great! The inside of my washer is still wet, though, with droplets clinging to the drum. Since instructions say to remove any residual, I wiped it dry with a paper towel and leaving the door open to air dry whatever remains.Instructions say to repeat the process up to 3x if washer is still stinky, but I only used one tablet in one cycle and my machine smells awesome and looks sparkly! I have 5 more tabs left so I'm thrilled.I don't think there is a need for me to try or compare the Affresh brand to something else. I'm extremely satisfied with it and unless there's a reason for me to change, I will stick to Affresh from now on. Guys, please re-read my first sentences. After 16yrs and only washing my washer 3x, I achieved the impossible with one Affresh tab. If my washer can get clean smelling, so can yours!
