Broke - updated review
After about 6 uses, the end of the plunger broke off. It’s attached by a screw, but could not be screwed back in. Amazon has sent a replacement, we’ll see if this was just a dud.Amazon sent the replacement quickly, and it has worked like a charm ever since. I updated it to 5 stars, it’s a great extruder.

Great product
So much better than the cheap craft store extruders. Night and day difference, so much easier to use and clean. If you are struggling with a cheap model, buy this now!

So versatile!
I bought a few far cheaper confection and pastry extruders before and would go through them in a matter of months because they weren't strong enough to work with even very well-kneeded clay. Was able to make hollow tubes, strings, rods, columns, and posts as well as many other forms, and all were consistently shaped and sized every time. This was definitely a game changer, and I'm glad I finally broke down and bought it. Would recommend to anyone serious in the clay crafting, but this would also be fantastic for pastry and confection artists too.

wonderful versatility with added extra pieces. My discs from old extruder fit this one as well. Bought the attachment to run it with my drill but the ergometric handle is so nice that I have not used it yet. So much easier to use than my other one. I haven't quite figured out how to use all of the edges yet. Wonderful what a difference a few changes over a standard model can make BUY THIS ONE

Hard to clean.
I bought this for my business. When using clay, it’s hard to get it out of the extruder.

Broke after first use
Bought this for a 2023 Christmas gift for my daughter. She just let me know today, January 9th, 2024, that the extruder broke after using it one time. I’ll be returning it to Amazon and getting a different one for her as a replacement. Very disappointing for the price of this item.

O-rings…disintegrated after one session?
I really like the design of this extruder. The handle is nice and it’s easy to disassemble to clean. However, I can only give it 3 stars because the o-ring on the gasket literally fell apart after one session (extruded 3 clay chunks about the full length of the extruder) and it only comes with 2 replacements. Also, the metal threading on the end of the extruder has a sharp piece sticking out that sliced my thumb while cleaning the threads.
