Bought this for my 10 year old son and he loves it. Its very light so easily usable for children, but has some bells and whistles for them as they get more into it. I find myself borrowing it from my son and using it as well. Very sturdy, have used it in a few inches of water works well. Buried different metals in the sand to test it and it works well at a foot deep or so. Overall very good starter detector for child as well as adult

I dropped my keys in my attic while installing fiberglass batt insulation. After panicking when I realized I had lost the only copies of a few important keys, I purchased this detector to find them. After a couple of evenings of searching, I found them!!! This is a decent, functional, and inexpensive unit that served my needs. There are better, more feature rich options available, but they do cost considerably more. For my needs, this was the perfect price/performance point. Pros: - It beeps when metal is near.... yay! Cons: - It requires 2 9V batteries. Running this detector regularly as a hobby would get expensive. - The 'type of metal' and depth indicators weren't accurate

I used to have a metal detector some years back, but it was nothing like this one. This item is high quality and easy to use. My 10 year old grandson thoroughly enjoys using the metal detector and discovering things. I think it's very reasonably priced and I recommend it.

Nice and light just what I wanted. No way would the battery go in. It was made entirely of plastic and there was no give for the guides that were to hold the batteries. If I had used much more force, the tips would have broken off. Several men tried it also and none of us were successful.

I bought this as a gift for my husband's birthday. He had been wanting a metal detector for a long time, but thought that the "good ones" were out of his price range. I took a risk on this one and he LOVES it. He has found things more than 12" below ground. The metal content on the display seems to be accurate. Just last week he dug up a cast iron pot that looks to date back to the Civil War era. We live in an area rich on history, so we're sure to find more! This detector has gone way beyond our expectations for the price. We are going to purchase the gold adapter very soon. I would recommend this product to any beginner that would like a detector in a modest price range.

Impressed with how well this worked. I only used once so far, but took to Malibu beach to see what would happen. This detector was picking up pennies that were 8" under the sand, even with me scanning relatively fast. Accurately identifies the metal as well. Very happy with my purchase.

I haven't had any luck with this as of yet. I think it works fine, I was happy with the bang for my buck. I believe it's very nice quality. I don't know if it's just me or what but I haven't found anything yet. It beeps as if there is something but I never find anything. Maybe it's the settings and Im just not setting it properly. I've read the manual and tried to set it accordingly but no luck yet. I'm not giving up tho!! I was very pleased with the shipping, it was right on the money.

Dopo averlo testato per qualche mese, possiamo confermare, sia io in primis, che il mio amico, essendo esperti nel campo delle ricerche di oggetti metalicci, che questo Metal Detector una volta che lo si impara a capire bene come funziona, è un Metal Detector, che per il costo ridicolo e oltretutto in offerta a cui lo abbiamo acquistato, è veramente infallibile, per esperienza che abbiamo acquisito tramite questo metal detector è che anche se è vero che non ha un enorme costo, ma lo si può considerare professionale a tutti gli effetti, è vero che non sia provvisto di cuffie, per captare bene il segnale direttamente, dentro le vostre orecchie, e senza che nessuno se ne accorga, ma non importa, perché se bisogna fare la differenza tra questo e quelli molto più blasonati, per me e io mio amico, questo metal detector è di una qualità di altissimo livello, e i materiali da cui è composto danno una certezza di stabilità nel tempo, e robustezza, entrambi uniti alle sue performance ineguagliabili, l'unica cosa che bisogna imparare per apprezzare al meglio questo metal detector, è imparare a riconoscere i segnali che emette, così da acquisire molta più esperienza riguardo nelle ricerche nel campo dei metalli, ad esempio tutte le volte che suona a mala pena o piano o poco o mediocre quando trova un oggetto di metallo, per esperienza già si può capire che non si tratta di un soldo, ma di un semplice metallo come un gancio per i capelli che usano le donne per attaccarsi i capelli, oppure la carta in alluminio delle sigarette o delle chewing gum o lattina ad esempio, mentre invece quando succede che emana segnali a modo sibilico cioè continuo e costantemente sempre più forte, si capisce che sta a segnalare di un metallo prezioso come i metalli contenuti nei soldi ad esempio, ve lo confermiamo per esperienza personale da parte mia e del mio amico che lo stiamo ancora testando al tutt'ora nella sabbia marina, dove è molto più facile trovare roba preziosa essendo occupata da tante persone nei giorni estivi, quindi di sicuro non scrivo questa recensione per dire stronzate, ma per confermare che più lo usiamo e più ci rendiamo conto che in base al suono che emana, questo metal detector vi fa capire che c'è qualche metallo più o meno prezioso, e se non fosse professionale di solito quelli non professionali funzionano con 4 mini pile e si vede che sono metal detector adatti a chi non ha esperienza in questo campo. Invece questo metal detector una due pile grandi proprio come quelli professionali e ha una sensibilità da paura e a largo scalo proprio uguale e identico a quello professionali, quindi capta al volo quando nella vicinanza c è un oggetto metallico se si regola al massimo la sensibilità del segnale, e per nostra esperienza riesce a captare il punto da dove iniziare a scavare al primo colpo, l'unica cosa che dovete essere bravi a fare è, saper guardare bene lì nel punto dove il metal detector suona spesso e da lì aprire un varco di 40 0 50 cm o 30cm di larghezza, invece riguardo la profondità bisogna vedere cosa segna il metal detector, ad esempio se avvolte segna mid range più il tipo di metallo bisogna scavare quasi a metà profondità o di meno, se lo segna fisso allora bisogna scavare un po' più in profondità fino a quando io segnale non smette ad esempio, se invece segna solo il tipo di metallo allora non bisogna scavare proprio, ma pian piano spostare la sabbia e vedere se li c è veramente qualcosa di prezioso o meno. Insomma funziona a dovere anche se non è provvisto di apposite cuffie come invece, lo sono quelli con costi molto più blasonati. Per apprezzare al meglio, questo metal detector, l'unica cosa che bisogna fare è impararlo ad usare bene, fare esperienza ore e ore al giorno, perderci almeno due o tre ore di tempo se in caso avete troppo da fare per colpa del vostro lavoro mattutino o serale, ma almeno 3 ore di tempo li dovete dedicare, perché più ore gli dedicate e prima lo imparate a usare a dovere, deve esser una passione per voi, no solo una perdita di tempo, e vedrete che pian piano, una volta che vi ci appassionerete, confermerete tutto ciò che vi ho descritto, bisogna solo saper riconoscere bene quando il segnale è veramente forte e costante e da lì capire al volo che può trattarsi di un oggetto metallico che al 90% può essere qualche soldo, ad esempio. Bisogna acquisire molta esperienza e imparare e dedicarci del tempo, e solo così potrete dare una vostra recensione precisa e sincera si questo metal detector, a noi mai una delusione ci ha dato ad esempio. Sempre ottimi risultati anche in soli mezz' ora di ricerca ad esempio, questo per farvi capire che una volta che ci prenderete la mano, questo metal detector sarà in grado di darvi eccellenti soddisfazioni. Bisogna solo farci un paio di mesi di esperienza e dedicarci con passione a ciò che fate e come lo fate,altrimenti non fà per voi se lo fate giusto per, o solo per passatempo e senza neanche la voglia di imparare. Questa marca Bounty Hunter è una marca molto famosa in America, e se è molto famosa forse un motivo ci sarà??? Questo per farvi capire che non si tratta di un semplice metal detector per dilettanti come altri forse confermano, perché quelli da dilettanti costano poco e durano nulla e falliscono dove invece questo arriva, cioè a segnalare oggetti al volo ancor prima che arrivate al punto ad esempio se gli aumentate la sensibilità, e capta oggetti anche quelli di un metro di profondità o addirittura molto più profondi, per farvi capire che questo non è un metal detector da dilettanti, ma è un metal detector professionale, questo ve lo possiamo confermare io e il mio amico che al tutt'ora lo usiamo con soddisfazione e ogni giorno troviamo se per più soldi, per farvi capire che se vi ci dedicate tempo e passione a imparare, anche voi confermerete l'altissima qualità di questo metal detector, e che non è uno come tanti da quattro soldi che poi non funzionano a dovere. La marca Bounty Hunter da come ripeto, se è famosa in America un motivo ci sarà, e di certo se si trattava di un metal detector da quattro soldi, di sicuro i professionisti neanche lo avrebbero usato in America e non sarebbe diventata una marca famosa ad esempio. Date ascolto a chi ha anni di esperienza in questo campo, ed è come me e il mio amico informato riguardo la ricerca di metalli e di questo campo. Provare imparare e passione, per credere. Prima di valutare bisogna studiarselo un prodotto, ma mesi e mesi o addirittura anni per vedere l'affidabilità e la durata del prodotto stesso, e da lì trarre delle valutazioni. È inutile acquistare un prodotto per poi dare subito una valutazione affrettata e non essere capaci di aver studiato un prodotto più a fondo. Prima bisogna imparare ad usarlo e vedere la qualità costruttiva, per poi appassionarsi e dedicarsi qualche ora di tempo, e per poi dopo mesi o anni bisogna dare una valutazione sui risultato ottenuti grazie all'uso di questo metal detector, perché grazie ai risultati che otterrete potrete veramente capire se si tratta di un metal detector professionale e affidabile, o del solita cineasta da 4 soldi adatta ai meno esperti. Have not had the opportunity to really use the detector yet but would like to say the Amazon service was top notch especially for the time of year I purchased, Busy! Purchase was for my grandson's X-Mas gift and he was very excited.

Geliefert wird das Gerät in einem unscheinbaren Karton, der nichts von dessen Inhalt verrät. Mit wenigen Handgriffen sind die drei Einzelteile zusammengesteckt, montiert und verbunden. Ein verständliches Gerätehandbuch in der jeweiligen Landessprache liegt bei. Der Metalldetektor ist äußerst leicht und verfügt über eine weiche Armlehne mit verstellbarer Länge. Damit läßt sich das Gerät mühelos über viele Stunden einsetzen, ohne dass einem das Gewicht oder die ungünstige Ergonomie die Freude verdirbt. Discovery 1100 wird mit zwei 9V Blockbatterien bestückt (die NICHT im Lieferumfang enthalten sind) und ist sofort und ohne weitere Kalibrierungsmaßnahmen eisatzbereit. Das Gerät gibt drei unterschiedliche Signaltöne ab. Sie informieren den Suchenden darüber, ob es sich bei dem Fund eher um nutzlosen Müll oder einen "Schatz" handelt. Ein Kopfhörer läßt sich optional anschließen. Durch eine auswählbare Signalvorfilterung (Diskriminierung) werden ungewünschte Gegenstände nicht angezeigt, wodurch sich die Alarme drastisch reduzieren. Die austauschbare Suchspule ist von einem wasserdichten Gehäuse umschlossen und somit in flachem Wasser oder bei Regen einsatzfähig. Was die LCD-Anzeige betrifft : Sie ist übersichtlich und gut ablesbar. Nur bei direkter Sonneneinstrahlung oder großer Helligkeit ergeben sich Schwierigkeiten. Doch dieses Problem haben die meisten LCD Anzeigen. Das Display infomiert über Art des Fundes und dessen Lage unterhalb der Erdoberfläche. Preislich liegt das Gerät, was die Ausstattung betrifft, etwas über dem anderer Anbieter. Dadurch, dass es jedoch wesentlich robuster aufgebaut ist, halte ich den Preis für gerechtfertigt. Alles in allem ein gutes Gerät für den Anfänger - oder für jemanden, der etwas knapp bei Kasse ist, ein Suchgerät jedoch unbedingt braucht. Auch wenn das Gerät einfach zu bedienen ist : Das Handbuch sollte unbedingt gelesen werden, damit man die Arbeitsweise des Geräts versteht und Freude bei der Suche hat. Ich habe zu Lernzwecken verschiedenen Gegenstände (Schrauben, Cent-Münzen, Dose, Goldkettchen etc.) im Garten vergraben (und markiert) um zu sehen, wie Funde angezeigt werden. Wird im Diskriminator-Modus gesucht (z.B. Silber) und ein Fund angezeigt, so lässt sich der genaue Fundort des Gegenstandes präziser ermitteln, wenn man die Diskriminierung zu diesem Zweck ausschaltet. Nach einer Woche Sucherfahrung ist zu sagen, dass jede Menge Gegenstände gefunden wurden. Geldmünzen (aus DM Zeiten) waren ebenso darunter wie ein halbes Dutzend 50 Cent Stücke. Etwas wirklich Wertvolles war aber nicht unter den Ausgrabungsstücken. Die Suchtiefenanzeige hat sich als nicht all zu genau erwiesen und wird von der Größe des Fundstücks maßgeblich beeinflusst. Jetzt stelle ich mir die Frage : wenn schon dieses günstige Gerät so erfolgreich arbeitet - wie sieht es dann mit den professionelleren Geräten aus ? Und ganz nebenbei kann man den Bounty Hunter auch zur Wühlmausjagd einsetzen. Indem mit einer Schlauchboothandluftpumpe Eisenpulver in die Ausgänge pustet, kann danach der Verlauf der Wühlgänge geortet werden. Dadurch lässt sich Köderfutter gezielt einbringen.
