Light Weight
I really like this style of safety picks compared with the ones with the long string that I had to run through my jacket sleaves. I still would secure these to the jacket somehow, however I love how light they are.

I feel safer with them and nice that they can go around your neck. Nice, sharp spikes. One thing we didn't like was that the spikes come undone with movement so you have to keep relatching them so they aren't poking you.

Well, I don't mean to rant but I've tried at least four different brands of spikes and they all suck. The cords are too short. You put them around your neck and with a heavy winter coat they hang to about your collarbone. If the handles don't fasten to each other they keep sliding off. If the handles do fasten the cord is so short it's like wearing a plastic bow tie. These Rapala spikes fasten together so hard you'd never get them apart in a panic. Do any of these companies field test? Come on! Longer cords and magnets in the handles to gently hold them together and you'd have a decent product.
